Applications SHIVOXMEKPisageneralpurposemethylethylketoneperoxide

(MEKP) for the curing of unsaturated polyester resins in thepresence of a cobalt accelerator at room and elevatedtemperatures.

ThecuringsystemSHIVOXMEKP/cobaltacceleratorisparticularlysuitableforthecuringofgelcoatresins,laminatingresins,lacquersand castings; moreover, the manufacture of light resistant partsmaybepossiblecontrarytothecuringsystembenzoyl

peroxide/amineaccelerator.PracticalexperiencethroughoutmanyyearshasproventhatbytheguaranteedlowwatercontentandtheabsenceofpolarcompoundsinSHIVOXMEKP,thisperoxideisverysuitableinGRPproductsfore.g.marineapplications.

For room temperature application it is necessary to use SHIVOXMEKPtogetherwithacobaltaccelerator.
