STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: In a bid to eradi- cate corona from District Jail Jammu, the Prison authority are conducting testing and retesting of both positive tested inmates and negative test- ed inmates so that the pan- demic is attended effective- ly. These prisoners are given protein rich food, vitamin rich fruits and other allied medical diet in addition to the SoP related items like face masks, sanitizers, washing soap, bathing soap and lukewarm water etc-on the directions of DGP, Prisons V.K. Singh. It is due to these steps of care and welfare that 72 of 80 positive prisoners of the first batch turned negative in a short span of 13-14 days. Fortunately none of the prison staff is COVID positive. District Legal Services Authority Jammu in coor- dination with Ayush (ISM) and Prison authority on Friday organized aware- ness camp wherein immu- nity booster medicines were distributed among all the prison population including the COVID positives. Ten numbers of oximeters have been also provided by CMO Jammu. In all, no COVID positive inmate is symptomatic and even comorbid inmates are sta- ble and asymptomatic. A separate Block has been earmarked for corona positive prisoners to isolate them from the rest and also to take special care of them. STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) has welcomed request of eminent citizens to expedite restoration works at Mubarak Mandi Palace Complex and said that the Complex, which has unique architecture and is one of largest complexes of North India, occupies pride of place as a priceless heritage of Jammu region. While addressing a press con- ference, Gulchain Singh Charak former Minister & President DSS J&K said that layers of history dating back to 1710 and being the seat of power of rulers of erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir, it has been the emotional and cultural hub of Jammu since centuries. However, in the decades following ascendency of Kashmir centric popular Governments, it became sub- ject to neglect and deteriora- tion, and later measures to restore the complex to its previ- ous glory have yet to fully fruc- tify, he added. Referring to newspaper reports about a petition having been submitted to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha regard- ing the need to restore Shergarhi Complex Srinagar and expediting restoration of the Mubarak Mandi complex Jammu, Charak expressed gratitude towards eminent citi- zens of Jammu, who expressed concern over completion of Mubarak Mandi complex. He said that people of Jammu have immense faith in Manoj Sinha, who is also Chairman of the Governing Body and has vast experience in public life and is connected with the grass root. "He needs to be appraised of the factual position as well as the difficul- ties being faced by the Society, so that the restoration work is expedited. Some issues in this context, which have been hanging fire, included restoration of Dogra Arts Museum on priority, restoration work on 'Army Headquarters' building was completed in 2011 and plan for adaptive reuse of aforesaid building needs to be taken up on priority, expediting restora- tion of structures in central courtyard including Durbar-e- Aam, constitution of Society for nomination of prominent and knowledgeable citizens as mem- bers of Governing Body," he added. The company on Thursday launched its BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé model in India at introductory prices of Rs 39.3 lakh and Rs 41.4 lakh in diesel engine variant. It will bring the petrol engine version later. The model is locally produced at BMW Group plant in Chennai. "... our strategy remains strong, to grow in the market in India we continue to intro- duce new segments. The BMW 2 series Gran Coupe is a perfect example of entering a new segment to increase the demand, to increase share of the luxury segment in Indian market. Our strategy remains solid and strong about the future of India," BMW Group India, Australia and New Zealand, President Vikram Pawah told PTI. Reflecting on the business performance of 2020, he said the first quarter of the year "was a solid quarter, although the pandemic happened towards the end of it". "The second quarter was a total washout from a sales perspective because most of the country was in lockdown or partially opening up. We did not do any business dur- ing that time. But quarter three, now we are seeing some interest, we are seeing cus- tomers returning back as the unlock is happening," Pawah said. These prisoners are givenprotein rich food, vitaminrich fruits and other alliedmedical diet in addition tothe SoP related items likeface masks, sanitizers,washing soap, bathing soapand lukewarm water etc-onthe directions of DGP,Prisons V.K. Singh.

It is due to these steps ofcare and welfare that 72 of80 positive prisoners of thefirst batch turned negativein a short span of 13-14

days. Fortunately none ofthe prison staff is COVIDpositive.

The company onThursday launched its BMW2 Series Gran Coupé model inIndia at introductory prices ofRs 39.3 lakh and Rs 41.4lakh in diesel engine variant.It will bring the petrol engineversion later. The model islocally produced at BMWGroup plant in Chennai.
