CAMMELL LAIRD
We undertake numerous repair, dry-docking and engineering
projects annually on every type of vessel, ranging from the largest
passenger ship to the smallest dredger. These projects can be
accommodated afloat or in dock as necessary.
Complex refits are also undertaken on a regular basis on a
variety of vessels including specialist offshore vessels, passenger
and freight ferries, military auxiliaries, all types of cargo ships
and specialist research and support craft.Our strategic location on
the west coast of the UK requires minimal deviation from Atlantic
and Channel Trades and is ideally placed to deal with the
continually increasing traffic generated by the Port of Liverpool
and the Irish Sea.
We have the full array of skills and facilities to deal with any
type requirement including:
• Aluminium and steel repairs and renewals • Manufacture and
installation of cargo handling equipment such as stern doors,
vehicle ramps, mezzanine decks and lifts • Main and Auxiliary
Engine strip down and overhaul, Ancillary and Deck machinery

SHIP REPAIR & REFIT
Cammell Laird provides an independent Naval Architecture and
marine engineering design service to ship owners as well as
undertaking technical design and support for repairs, conversion
and new build contracts in the shipyard.
Our integrated team of naval architects, marine engineers,
electrical engineers and marine design draughtsmen have a unique
‘hands on’ approach, gained from working on a wide range of
projects over many years. The blend of design consultancy,
shipbuilding and conversion expertise enables us to offer clients
‘the complete design solution’, a service which is approved within
our design scope by BVQI. This aspect is crucial for the delivery
of projects from concept to completion and allows the shipyard to
offer turnkey design and build projects.
In addition to its design function the team has a formidable
track record of experience in heavy lifting, heavy transport and
installation of large ship sections and equipment.

TECHNICAL SERVICES
Cammell Laird specialises in conversion projects, basing our
offer on a full turnkey solution. We have extensive experience and
expertise in performing complex multi-million pound conversions on
a wide range of vessels. Our experience includes Cable laying and
Pipe laying vessels; Offshore support vessels, Jack-up rigs, Deep
water drilling vessels and Semi-submersibles; Ferries and Cruise
liners.
