Diamond is the hardest mineral known to man.

It tops the hardness scale, scoring four times higher than Sapphire, which is a number nine on the scale.

Only diamond can cut other diamond.

Color is variable and tends toward pale yellows, browns, grays, and also white, blue, black, reddish, greenish and colorless.
