Exchange STRESS & TENSION
forIncreased
Energy&
Performance!
According to the Center for Disease Control, stress is the
cause of up to 95% of all disease.
the problem. . .
what is stress?To your body,
stress is synonymous with change.
Anything that causes a change in your body and in your life, causes stress.
It does not matter if it is a“good” change or a “bad” change,
they are both perceived by the body as stress.
Stress – the fuel provided by life for creative action.
how do we lose our health & wellness?
When an event occurs that our brain determines is not safe for us to fully
experience, the energy and information of that event is translated into tension, which is
then stored in the body.
Our body then walls off the offending energy and tension over time with muscular spasm, spinal distortion, reduced breathing into the
area and reduced movement.
stored energy & tensionBrain/Spinal Cord (fatigue, foggy
thinking, memory loss)
Muscle tissue (muscle spasm, aches, pains, etc.)
Joints (postural distortion and spinal misalignment)
Organs, cells (organ dysfunction and disease)
common stressors: Arguments Conflicts Catching a cold Breaking a leg A skin infection Loss of a loved one Drugs (over the counter or
prescribed) Change or loss of job Lack of exercise or poor diet
Gravity Barometric Pressure > Changes in the Weather Environment Universal Dynamics > Moon Cycles, etc. Promotion, Graduation, New Relationships, etc.
frequently overlooked stressors
“SOMETIMES WE JUST FEEL BUMMED OUT!”
the stress response (in a nutshell)
Adrenalin is Released (Provides More Energy)
Blood Sugar Elevates (Provides More Energy)
Blood Pressure Rises (Provides More Oxygen to Muscles)
Pulse Increase (Provides More Oxygen to Muscles)
Muscles Tense (Provides Readiness
for Action) Pupils Dilate
(See More In Less Light)
These three functions use a
lot of energy and are notnecessary for our
immediate survival.
Immunity Turns Off
Digestion Turns Off
Sexual Function Turns Off
If during these stressful events, the Emotional Brain or Limbic System is involved (we feel fear, anger, resentment, etc.).
It then sends a message to the Brain Stem to maintain the Stress Response to keep us safe, just in case such a situation ever happens again.
Over time, this develops into what is called“Defense Posture.”
long term effects of stress response
Adrenalin is Released (Anxiety / Depression) Blood Sugar Elevates (Diabetes) Blood Pressure Rises (Hypertension) Pulse Increases (Cardiac Arrhythmia) Muscles Tense (Fibromyalgia, Neck &
Back Pain) Pupils Dilate (Far-vision) Immunity Turns Off (All immune related
diseases) Digestion Turns Off (Constipation, Diarrhea
and Indigestion) Sexual Function Turns Off (Impotency, Infertility)
Most of us remain in defense throughout our lives, and the
higher more evolved brain does not have the opportunity to
develop its unique properties and evolve new strategies for
experiencing and responding to life.
“The secret to our health and happiness lies in our successful adjustment to the ever-changing conditions on this globe and in our lives. The penalties or consequences for failure in this great process of adaptation is an imbalance
leading to disease and/or unhappiness.”

the neural subsystem
• the “master control centre”
• consists of: brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves
• coordinates all bodily functions (breathing, digestion, elimination, etc.)
• stores and/or dissipates energy in the body
“Is there clear communication?”
active subsystem
• muscles
• tendons
• tension storage
Is there proper motion?
passive subsystem
• skull, vertebrae, bones
• discs
• ligaments
Is There Proper Alignment?
emotional subsystem
• adds flavour or “sets the tone” to the active, passive and neural subsystems
“Am I Safe?”
life expression
In order for you to express life fully and have optimal health, co-ordination of these 4 subsystems is imperative:
- NEURAL
- ACTIVE
- PASSIVE
- EMOTIONAL
“Am I Connected?”
When you experience the freedom of aspine and nervous system clear of tensionand interference, the natural health and
innate healing ability of body and mind are restored, allowing you to be who you truly are: a creative, self-healing human being growing physically, mentally, emotionally,
spiritually, and socially.
the goal . . .
a solution…
network spinal analysis:NSA is a cutting edge technique and analysis which allows your body and
brain to connect and develop strategies for dealing with life more
effectively.
network spinal analysis
Low force technique designed to strengthen the connection between the mind/body which assists the brain in developing new strategies to:
- Dissipate tension from your spine and nervous system. - Adapt to stress. - Make healthier choices. - Experience greater wellbeing.
network spinal analysis
Create a more self-correcting and self-reliant spine.
Connect with the body’s natural rhythms.
Network Care is an EVIDENCE-BASED APPROACH TO WELLNESS AND BODY AWARENESS.
NSA research
Research at the University of California, Irvine demonstrated that practice members in Network Care reported significant improvement in:
Physical Health and symptoms Emotional/Mental Health and symptoms Stress, and Life Enjoyment
A unique Wellness Index was developed to assess these categories for overall quality of
life.
76% percent of the over 2,800 practice members improved in every category.
Although physical symptoms changed most often within the first couple of
months, practice members reported their overall life enjoyment and quality of life continuing to improve year after year.

The Wellness approach is believed to foster a heightened sense of personal responsibility for one’s health and a greater
sense of participation in evaluating the benefits of care
and the personal transformation that occurs as care progresses
levels of care
Basic Care – (1a, 1b, 1c and 2a) “connect & release” “discover”
Intermediate Care – (2b, 2c) “transform”
Advanced Care “awaken”
goals of level one care
to initiate spinal recoveryto gain an awareness of your spineto teach the brain to find the body,
detect tension and increase breathdevelopment of the spinal gatewaydevelopment and awareness of the
respiratory wave
Major Benefits of NSA
Melt down of tension from the past. Increased energy in the present. Establish appropriate level of adaptative
response to handle stress in the future.
Things you can do to speed your healing:
Listen To Your Body
Respect the frequency of your visits – recommendations are based on you receiving the fastest and best results
Attend Advanced Level Orientations – as you progress through care, more advanced orientations will be offered to enhance your results in each level
