DIVISION

Sherwood Police Division is part of the Oxley District of Metro South Region and encompasses the suburbs of Chelmer, Graceville, Sherwood, Corinda, Tennyson and parts of Rocklea, Yeerongpilly and Oxley. It forms part of the Northern Sector with Moorooka and Mount Ommaney divisions. The division has 8 railway stations from 2 suburban lines, and covers a significant area of industrial and flood prone land. The division encompasses a section of one of the largest volume arterial roads in South East Queensland, namely Ipswich road, and several other major roads, namely Sherwood Road and Oxley Road. The division is encapsulated between the Brisbane River and Ipswich road.

The residential housing within the division consist of mainly Queenslander or Colonial type residences in the older established suburbs. The major shopping centre for the area is on Oxley Road, Sherwood with numerous smaller satellite shopping areas such as the Corinda Central business precinct and the Oxley business precinct.

The Brisbane Markets. Rocklea, is situated in the major retail area, and operates 7 days per week, selling food, meat, fruit and vegetables to public and other retailers.
