the festive week ahead!
Shepperton
Little Gems & Mini Tots
This week Mini Tots have been
decorating salt dough
decorations for our Christmas
trees at home. Little Gems have
been making Christmas Reindeer
handprints and sticking
snowmen.
On Monday we had our
Christmas party, we played pass
the parcel and Santa came to
visit, everyone received a special
gift. We had lots of fun dancing
and eating yummy party food!
Today we are decorating
Christmas Jumpers for Christmas
Jumper day.
Little Boppers
This week in Little Boppers we have been:
Monday - we have been learning the letter “Z” and what
animal starts with this letter of the alphabet. Also, we have
making Christmas playdough.
Tuesday - we have been painting Love Hearts with stamps and
also producing yellow Christmas stars with our hands.
Wednesday - we decorated Santa heads with Black and Red
felt paper with cotton wool balls.
Thursday - we have been dinosaur painting with stamps, also
producing Christmas balls for trees using glitter and glue.
Friday - we have painted Reindeers with our feet.
Every day all our Little Boppers and Pre-Schoolers have been
practicing their Christmas songs and also talking to all the
children about what they would like for Christmas.
Pre – School
On Monday we worked in teams to see who could make the biggest tower with our lego blocks. This
helped to develop our social-making relationship skills. We then practiced all of our Christmas songs.
On Tuesday we used our letter moulds and sand to spell words and recognise our letters of the
alphabet.
On Wednesday we practiced our Christmas songs again in preparation for Friday. We also coloured in
pictures of Santa Claus.
On Thursday we did some name writing to work on our find motor movements and letter
recognition.
Friday, Show Day! We spent the morning practicing so we are ready for when the parent’s arrive.
Joining us in 2017 are:

Christmas Tree
We are sure you have all seen and admired
Playtime Shepperton’s beautiful Christmas
Tree in the foyer.
This year’s tree was donated to us by
Longacres Garden Centre Shepperton.
If you haven’t got your tree yet or need some
more decorations take a trip to Longacres
Garden Centre Shepperton, Nutty Lane,

Flowerpot snowmen are super easy to make!
All you need is:
1 x Small Flowerpot
1 x Small Glove (Stripy, spotty, patterned)
Ribbon
Paint (White, Black, Orange & Pink)
And then follow these 3 steps:
First: Paint your flower pot white, set it aside to dry
Second: Paint your snowman’s face, use black for the eyes and mouth,
orange for the nose and pink for his cheeks. Leave it aside to dry.
Third: Add your glove to the top, this creates his hat, tie some ribbon
around it to make a ‘bobble’. Take another piece of ribbon and tie it around
the base of your flowerpot, this is your snowman’s scarf.
Now you can put your finished snowman on your doorstep, windowsill or
anywhere else you’d like to display him. Why not make some more
snowmen with different size flowerpots and create a ‘Snow Family’!

Candy Cane
Reindeer
At Christmas you might see some peoples Christmas Trees have Candy Cane’s
hanging from the branches. Well, why not make some special Reindeer Candy
Cane’s for your tree, not only are the different but they are little works of art
made by you!
You will need:
2 x Candy Canes
1 x Red Pom Pom
2 x Googly Eyes
Brown Wool (or ribbon)
Double Sided Tape
First: Take your Candy Canes and hold them back to back (so the long edges
are together)
Second: Wrap you wool or ribbon around both Candy Canes just under the
‘hook’, this is creating you reindeer so you can make him/her as big or small as
you like. Once done, secure the wool/ribbon with a little piece of tape.
Third: Stick your googly eyes and pom pom nose to your reindeer.
Now go and hang them on your tree for everyone to see, or give them to your
friends as presents!
