As senior designer, Mr. LaFrance was responsible for the architectural, structural, and electrical design and documentation of commercial and industrial modules. This responsibility began at sales associates’ conceptive design continuing through to the completion of production shop drawings required for module fabrication. Rick LaFrance was found to be well prepared, extremely knowledgeable, and performed his tasks consistently above the standards set at Shelter Industries. His drawings and documentation were always clear and concise proudly displaying a degree of aesthetic flair. Although 2-D AutoCAD was the normal drawing mode, where appropriate, Mr. LaFrance demonstrated his handle on CAD advances making excellent use of both 3D and BIM techniques in the performance of his projects. His 3D expertise allowed Shelter to quickly identify design conflicts and deficiencies while graphically illustrating difficult to understand wood and steel constructions. Always punctual, Mr. LaFrance devoted his daily routine to the performance of his assigned tasks. I found him resourceful in the analysis and completion of ill-defined and confusing problems. Knowing who to approach, he quickly defined the problem, considered the options, and developed the solutions with a minimum of supervisory input. I highly recommend Mr. LaFrance as a hard working senior designer proficient in CAD and BIM with initiative, attention to detail, and clarity of drawings.
