Of all weapons in WWl, artillery underwent the most changes

Artillery Shells (Projectile)

Shells launched from artilleries exploded in midair, which ejected metal projectiles that would strike targets.

Bombs and other explosives

Hand grenade introduced in 1908Rifle grenades were also used

Many grenades were improvised independently

Parachutes

Used for artillery spotters in observation balloons.

Parachutes used for jumping were unreliable and dangerous.
