Keller, a 20+-year Shell Pipeline Company employee passed away on May 1, 2007, after a lengthy and hard- fought battle against kidney cancer. Mark was born in Indiana and joined Shell Pipeline Company (SPLC)on May 20,1985, in Zionsville, IN as a pipeliner. Mark's career spanned over 20 years with SPLC, much of which was in the Control Center. 1986 - 1988 Controller, Wood river, IL 1989 - 1991 HS&E Assistant, Indianapolis, IN 1992 - 1993 Control Center Formatter, Houston, TX 1994 - 1996 Scheduler, Houston, TX 1996 - 1997 Console Supervisor, Houston, TX 1997 - 2007 Computational Pipeline Monitoring (CPM) Analyst, Houston, TX The Mark A. Keller Charity Basketball Tournament Shell Pipeline Company's 3rd annual charity basketball tournament was re- named and played on August 25, 2007, in honor of Mark. The money raised by the tournament was donated to M.D. Anderson Cancer Research. "It was certainly the most fun and exciting in the history of this event," said Jill Derise, Control Center Manager. Several games went into overtime, including the final game, which required two overtimes to declare a champion. Other highlights included Harlem Globetrotter Paul Gaffney teaching Control Center Operations Manager David Scruggs how to "hip-hop" dance in the famous globetrotter circle. Behind the strong play of Supply I Scheduler Kevin Daniel, the "SOPUS Supply Houstonians," anchored by Motiva Distribution General Manager Twigg Bohlen and coached by Revenue Optimization Analyst Earnesta Grace, captured the championship and won the coveted trophy in double overtime against the new entry, "Lubricants Siubes." GOM Regional Manager Greg,5mith's "GOM Hurricanes" won the consolation bracket by defeating the two-time defending champion Control Center "Fear Dis". Individual awards were also presented as follows: • Most Valuable Player: Kevin Daniel, Supply Scheduler • Sportsmanship Award: Mike Yobe, Lubricants Innovations Manager • Biggest Hack: Eric Greenlee, Supply Finance (Eric received a nice hammer for his efforts.) • Biggest Whiner: RashiBates, Benchmarking Lead (Rashiwas presented a teething ring and special Pooh Bear "sippy" cup for his award.)
