QUICK FACTS

BRIEF PROGRAM DESCRIPTION/GOALS:The Sheet Metal and Plastics Technology (SMP) program is designed to provide entry level knowledge and hands-on skills required for em-ployment in the sheet metal industry. Instruction includes pattern development/fabrication of architectural metal, soldering, and duct work.

DEGREES THAT CAN BE EARNED:Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Certificate of Achievement (CA)

WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT THE PROGRAM:• Students need to successfully complete 23 credits in SMP, 3 Blueprint 22 credits, and 3 Welding 19 credits, to receive the Certificate of Achievement.• The Sheet Metal Industry offers full scholarships for eligible students. Scholarships cover tuition, fees and books.• The Sheet Metal Union will offer graduates employment after successful completion of a Certificate of Achievement.
