Purpose of Document This document communicates enhancements and fixes made to the Compass XD™ product in the Compass XD 12.0 Release and the Cardinal Core 2019 Fall Release.

Table Synchronizations Financial Institutions using Compass XD™ that have completed the installation of the Compass XD 12.0 version release, Table Synchronization should be performed before users access Compass XD.

Late Payment Warning Enhancements have been made to the SHAZAM Core Loan program LN6500 to include a Late Payment Warning message in all loan bills.

The following verbiage has been added to all loan bills generated by LN6500:

“If payment is received after MM/DD/YYYY, $99.99 late fee will be charged.”

These values are calculated based on the late charge code for the account in the loan master file, LNMAST and the corresponding fields in the late charge parameter file, LNPAR3.

• Late Payment Date = Use payment due date of this bill to calculate the late payment date. • Late Fee = Use the amount of this bill to calculate the late fee.

Advanced Rate Change Notice An enhancement has been made that will allow Financial Institutions to be able to notify their customers prior to rate changes for Non-ARM loans. The number of advanced days will be determined by the Financial Institutions through their parameter settings.

New Field A new field has been added to the LNMAST file to allow users to notify customers of rate changes.

Advance Days for Rate Change Notice The number of days a notice will be sent to the customer prior to a rate change for this account

Compass XD users may access these new fields in Compass XD Parameter Maintenance.



From the Compass XD Main Menu, select Parameter Maintenance.

Select LNPAR1 parameter file. Select Submit.

Select Add.

The Loan Product Maintenance window will display. Select the Default Values tab.

The new field will display in the list.



The field will also be available within the Misc Codes window in the Loan Inquiry screen.

Select the Print/Notices tab within the Misc Code Edit window.

The field information will display in the Misc Code window in the Loan Inquiry screen.



Rate Change Notice For Non-ARM loans, Compass XD will now allow Financial Institutions to notify the customer in advance that the rate is changing by utilizing the new field in LNMAST, Advanced Days for Rate Change Notice.

Once the review process is complete, the data for the new rate and the new effective date will be stored in the existing LNMAST until the actual date of the rate change.

For example: If a customer’s rate review date is 1/15/19 and the advance days for rate change notice is 10, the rate will review on 1/5/19. The new rate will be stored with an effective date of 1/15/19 and will update in CORE at that time.

A new notice will be created to report the new rate and the rate change date in advance of the effective date of the rate change.

Compass XD Onboard Roles Enhancements have been made to restrict the ability to delete or edit general information, permissions, menus, users or groups for Onboard roles in Compass XD.

The Delete icon has been removed for the following roles.

• ONBOARD DEFAULT

Note: The Payment Change Notice may be printed in advance of the actual payment change.



• ONBOARD ADMIN • ONBOARD INQUIRY ONLY • ONBOARD DEPOSITS • ONBOARD LOANS

The Submit option has been disabled from the role editing in an ONBOARD role in the following ONBOARD roles:

• ONBOARD DEFAULT • ONBOARD ADMIN • ONBOARD INQUIRY ONLY • ONBOARD DEPOSITS • ONBOARD LOANS

The Submit option will display but the function will be disabled.

Escrow Distribution Adjustments Enhancements have been made to allow customers to export, import and process escrow distributions. Users will be able to:

• Export a file that includes escrow/property information based on specific criteria. • Import a file that details changes to escrow distribution amounts, due to common occurrences

such as county tax rate changes. • Process the records from the import file so that the escrow records are updated automatically,

with minimal manual entry.

Export an Escrow Record File from Compass XD Users are now able to pull a listing of escrow records based on the following:

• Distribution Code • Distribution Date Range

Note: Users must have permissions enabled for Escrow Distribution Adjustments, Export and Import and Process within the Loan Back Office tab of Admin Console.



• FIPS County Code

To export an escrow record in Compass XD, select Loan Back Office from the Main Menu.

The Export Distribution Adjustments menu will display two submenus:

• Export • Import and Process

Export Select the Export tab.

Select the Distribution Code from the Available Options and drop them in the Selected Column.

Select the Distribution Dates. Select the FIPS State Code and FIPS County Code from the menu drop-down.

Select Create Extract File.

The Service Feedback window will display.

Note: Users may select multiple distribution codes from the list.



If no records are found, the message box will display “No Records Found.”

The download window will display.

Uses may print or save the information to the local PC or network.

Import the Escrow Distribution File Import and Process Distribution File Users will be able to Import and Process a Distribution File within Compass XD.

Select the File Location box. Users may navigate to a file on the local PC or network for upload into Compass XD.

Select Import. The imported file will populate.

If the file is formatted properly, the records are imported, then a confirmation message will display with the total number of records processed.

Note: If the file is not formatted correctly, the Service Feedback window will display “File Format is Invalid.”



Select Submit.

Reports The distribution amounts will be updated for the specific account number, escrow ID and distribution code. A maintenance record will be written.

If exceptions occur while processing the records, an exception report will be created including the number of exceptions, a detailed list of the records where the exception occurred and reason for the exceptions.

The Report Notification will display in the top right corner of Compass XD. Users may download and print the report.

Admin Console Audit Confirmation A new function to run Audit Confirmation for only dormant accounts has been added to the Audit Confirmation tab within the Admin Console module of Compass XD. Financial Institutions will use the existing Audit Confirmation screen with the new “Select Only Dormant Accounts” option.

Initial Menu Field A new Initial Menu field has been added to the User List within Compass XD Permission of Admin Console. The new field is located in the User Edit Form>General Information. This new field will enable the user to specify which menu the user will use when accessing iAccess.

Security Settings

A new Security Settings options has been added to the More menu within the Admin Console>System Setup window. The new security settings will allow users to add, edit and delete within the Security Setting tab.

Additional information on Audit Confirmations, Security Settings and the new Initial Menu field, can be found in the Compass XD – Admin Console documentation located on the Client Login.

Account Reconciliation Enhancements have been made to include three fields as required within the Account Reconciliation Add fields. The three required fields are Check Number, Check Amount and Date Issues.

For additional information on the three required fields, users may view the Compass XD – Account Reconciliation documentation located on the Client Login.

Note: Users will need to contact SHAZAM Core Support before modifying this parameter.

Cross Application – Application Batches Additional Search Options A new Additional Search Option has been added Loan and Deposit functions to the Compass XD – Cross Application module. Users may now select Additional Search Options and search by input source or sequence number.

For more information on the new search options, users may view the updated Compass XD – Cross Application documentation located on the Client Login.

Date Calculator Enhancements have been made to add a new Date Calculator option in the Additional Options tab on the customer summary page. The new Date Calculator option has been added to the following modules within Compass XD:

• CIS • Deposit • Loans • Safe Deposit Box • General Ledger • Investments • Shareholder • Memo

Additional features and functions on the new Compass XD – Date Calculator are available on the Client Login.

Deposit Back Office History Correction A new History Correction option has been added to the Deposit Back Office function in Compass XD. This new feature will allow Financial Institutions to make corrections to debit and credits posted incorrectly to a customer’s account. This function will allow users to search by account number or short name on main relationships.

Additional details on the new History Correction option can be found in the Compass XD – Deposit Back Office Dashboard, Exception & Return Item Processing Documentation on the Client Login.

General Ledger Transfers New General Ledger Transfer functionality has been added to the General Ledger module of Compass XD. Users will now be able to Add, Update and Delete transfers from one general ledger account to another. This functionality will be similar to the transfer options within the Deposit module.

General Ledger Back Office The following new enhancements have been made to the General Ledger Back Office module within Compass XD:

• General Ledger Account Daily Transfers • Date Prompt • Search Options • Overall Totals • Budget Auto Fill & Calculations

General Ledger Account Daily Transfers A new feature has been added to allow financial institutions to transfer from one general ledger account to another within the General Ledger module of Compass XD.

New documentation for the Compass XD – General Ledger Account Daily Transfers is available on the Client Login.

Date Prompt A new Date Prompt function has been added to the Batch Total Screen within General Ledger Back Office. This option will allow users to filter dates being entered or altered.

Search Options A new option for Additional Search Options has been added to General Ledger Back Office. This new function will allow users to search with two (2) additional options. Users can search either or both at the same time.

Overall Totals A new totals options has been added to the Batch Totals panel within General Leger Back Office. Users will now see the total credits, debits and the difference displayed in the Batch Totals tab. This information will be for specific dates that have been entered on the previous screen.

Budget Auto Fill & Calculations Made enhancements to the General Ledger Back Office module to include a new GL Budget/Auto-Fill tab. This function allows users to use the budget from the previous year and build a budget for the new year.

General Ledger Recurring Entries A new feature has been added that will enable financial institutions to set up recurring transfers within the General Ledger Back Office module of Compass XD.

Laser Pro Searched Customers When searching customers in the Customer Export tab of Laser Pro, customers matching the search criteria are listed in the data grid. Users will now be able to return to the list of searched customers to choose another customer within the Customer Export tab of Laser Pro by selecting the Cancel option.

Additional features and functions of Laser Pro are located in the Compass XD – Laser Pro document that can be found on Client Login.

Loan Back Office FDIC Electronic Loan File An enhancement has been made to ensure the loan originating after field is optional within the FDIC Electronic Loan File.

For additional information user may view the Compass XD – FDIC Electronic Loan File documentation located on the Client Login.

Loan Inquiry A change has been made to the Submit option located on a previous year paid loan in Loan Inquiry. This function is inquiry only and does not allow any changes therefore the Submit option has been

Loan Summary Table Enhancements were made to the Loan Summary Table to ensure that the color reflected in the table was also the color theme chosen by the Compass XD user.

Parameter Maintenance Returned Item Processing New Parameter Menu options have been added for Returned Item Processing. These parameter files will allow users to add, edit or delete the parameter options for Returned Item Processing.

For additional information on the new Parameter Maintenance functions available for Returned Item Processing, users may view the Compass XD – Deposit Parameters documentation located on the Client Login.

Proof of Deposit Clearing POD Items Compass XD users will now be able to Clear Proof of Deposit (POD) Items in the Admin Console menu option. Clearing POD items and POD + MICR items allows users to clear and retransmit items from the POD vendor to the SHAZAM Core system for posting.

218188 Added logic to allow a user to select the Report Charge Off to Credit Bureau unchecked when the Charge off code = Yes.

218279 Resolved an issue where the Tax ID number was not formatted correctly in the Compass XD System Setup Bank information.
