WHS Cross Country The Wingate Cross Country teams fared well in their first three meets of the 2017 season and are hoping to do well in their upcoming meets prior to the district meet. The biggest challenge will be at the Rio Rancho Invitational where they will compete with about 30 schools in their respective race.

The girls have placed first in two meets and third in three. The boys placed first in Socorro, 4th at Thoreau and the Wingate Invite, 2nd at Newcomb and 6th at Navajo Pine.

A new meet this year is the Ancient Trails meet in Cortez, Co. October 6, followed by Rio Rancho, Grants, and District at Thoreau.

Due to the American College Testing [ACT] on October 28th, the 1AAA District Meet has been moved to that Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. The teams hope to see a few more supporters to cheer them on, so please come out and join us!

Congratulations to Latisha Lopez in her individual efforts this season. She has garnered four first place titles and a second. Her summer training is paying off. ~Coach Notah
