Scripture: Palm 5: 11&12 But let those who go to you for safety be glad. Let them always sing for joy. Spread your cover over them and keep them safe. Then those who love you will be glad because of you. 12 Surely, Lord, you bless those who do what is right. Like a shield, your loving care keeps them safe. (NIRV).

Message:The word of God for today encourages us to go to God for guidance so that we will be safe and we will be glad. We will even sing for joy because we are now safe. Guidance is essential especially guidance from God. It is even more special today as we need to be guided in the right manner and shown the right way. We will be blessed when we do what is right, when we choose the right way. Jesus is our true example, our true guide as we seek to make the right decisions in life.

Many do not like to be guided, however when we choose the right source (God), and when we choose the right way (God’s), His loving care will keep us safe. We can also depend on the Holy Spirit to not only comfort and care for us, but to guide us as we try to live a life that is correct in the sight of God. The hymn-writer says “Guide me Oh thou great Jehovah, Pilgrim through this barren land; I am weak, but thou art mighty; Hold me with thy powerful hand; Bread of heaven, Feed me now and evermore.” We can be guided to safety when guided by Almighty God.

Activity:When we submit to God’s guidance, we are blessed.
