THE LORD’S SUPPER

Pastor: The Lord be with you.

People: And also with you.

Pastor: Lift up your hearts.

People: We lift them up to the Lord.

Pastor: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

People: It is right to give our thanks and praise.

The pastor gives thanks appropriate to the season, remembering God's acts of salvation, and concludes: Pastor: And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise your name and we join their unending hymn. Sanctus

The pastor continues the thanksgiving. The institution of the Lord's Supper is recalled. The pastor concludes:

Pastor: And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ's offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith. Memorial Acclamation

The pastor invokes the present work of the Holy Spirit in the Epiclesis and then praises the Trinity, concluding: Pastor: All honor and glory is yours, Holy and Loving God, now and forever. Great Amen

THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Leader: God of the impossible, we pray for justice, peace and reconciliation; When the challenges seem too many,

People: Remind us of your resurrection power;

Leader: When the task seems overwhelming,

People: Remind us of the miracle of your love;

Leader: When apathy threatens us,

People: Remind us of your vision of a world made whole.

Leader: Help us to hope that the impossible can happen

People: And live as if it might do so today.

All: Amen. +HYMN UMH 417 Richmond +AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Apostle’s Creed I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father, and will come again to judge the liv-ing and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. +GLORIA PATRI Lesser Doxology Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
