The Greeley Senior Activity Center provides a venue for adults 50 and over, to improve their quality of life through friendship, volunteering, pursuit of education, entertainment, and recreational activities.
OPEN HOUSE! Greeley Senior Center’s Summer open house: Mon-day August 8 from 3-6:30pm. Meet with Senior Cen-ter Staff and program leaders. Hors d’oeuvres will be served. Mingle with your friends and find out about the hottest new activity trends in the area - demon-strations and more. FREE no reservations needed.
CONSTRUCTION/PARKING MEETING On Wednesday August 3 at 10:30am join the staff of the City of Greeley and get an update on the downtown construction and parking. Bring your questions and come ready to hear all about our new convention center. (meeting will be over by Nutrition lunch time). No need to RSVP just bring your family and friends!
SQUARE DANCE PARTY! On Thursday August 25 from 7 – 9pm join the Merry Mixer square dance group for a square dance par-ty. Open to all and Free. Caller Roger Shappe will be calling and everyone attending will be invited to join in on the dancing and fun. No Experience is needed. Dress is Casual. Light refreshment will be served.

Trips Explore Ute Trail – RMNP during our Hiking Trip on Friday, Aug 12. Bring your sack lunch, plenty of water and hiking gear. Depart from the Senior Center at 6:15am. Hiking trips are supported by participant donations and may be cancelled due to insufficient funding. Suggested donation is $15 members, $20 non-members. Hikers are responsible for trail & park fees charged the day of the trip.
Immerse yourself in the history of Glen Eyrie, with a tour of the Glen Eyrie Castle. The tour includes a brief historical video. After our tour you will have time in Manitou Springs to wander around and enjoy lunch at your own cost. Tues, Aug 2 at 8am. Fees are $25 members, $30 non-members.
Mardi Gras Casino Trip! Jump on the motor coach and enjoy the views on the way to Black Hawk. Please note this trip will require a minimum of 35 people 2 weeks prior or it will have to
be cancelled. Grab your friends and get signed up early. Included in this trip you will receive $5 on your player card and $10 discount for lunch. Trip includes transportation, bonus coupons and escort. Tues, Aug 9 leaving the Senior Center at 8:15am. Fees are $10 members, $15 non-members. 1-2-3 Strikes– you’re out! Join us for popcorn and peanuts as we watch the Colorado Rockies play the Washington Nationals on Wed, Aug 17 at 11am. Fees are $25 members, $30 non-members.

Gabbie Gourmet travels to The Buckhorn Exchange in Denver on Wed, Aug 10 at 10am. Fees are $10 members, $15 non-members. Food cost and gratuity are on your own.
Enjoy the excitement of Thoroughbred Horse Racing and a VIP table in the air conditioned clubhouse. The horses will be running live starting at 1pm. We will receive a tip sheet and program. Lunch will be at your own cost at the concessions. Fri, Aug 12 at 10:30am. Fees are $15 members, $20 non-members. Sports Compete in our Shuffleboard Doubles Tournament at 9am Wednesday, Aug 10. We will be drawing for partners. Fees are $3 shuffleboard club members, $8 non-members. Prizes awarded to the top 3 finishers. Lunch break taken at 11:30am, so make a reservation for Nutrition Lunch. Winners of June’s Tournament were: 1st Lana Ryden, 2nd Louise
Holmes, 3rd Dave Baloun.
There will be plenty of sharks in the pool room during the 8-ball Doubles Blind Draw Tournament at 8:30am on Wednesday, Aug 24. Pool Club
member fees $3, non-member fees $8.
Pool Club’s 10-ball Singles Tournament & Lunch is scheduled for Thursday, Aug 11 at 8:30am. Fee includes lunch! Fees are $6 pool club member, $11 non-member. Winners of June’s tournament were: 1st Joe Meuren, 2nd Jim Nelson, 3rd Joe

Learn about green ware, paints, stains, glaze and firing during Ceramics Class, 1-3pm each Wednesday of the month. Monthly fee is $8

Circuit Training Exercise at the FunPlex is designed with low impact exercises using various fitness equipment including stationary bikes. Class meets Mon/Wed, 9:40-10:40am, Aug 1-17. Member fee, $18. Non-member fee, $23. Please register by
Wednesday, July 27. 3-week session.
Strong People Program. This is a strength-training program that builds bone density and muscle mass and improves joint health and balance by the use of hand and ankle weights. Classes are taught by certified instructors. Classes meet for one hour in 12-week increments, either three days per week or two days per week. Registration is required by calling Weld County Area Agency on Aging at 346-6950 ext 6117.

9:30. “Man and Science are on a Continual Advance--Bill Barker” at 10:45am. “Feminism Then and Now--Sally Ann Drucker” at 1pm. “The Woman's Part: From Kate the Shrew to Lady
Macbeth--Ted Kachel” at 2:15. On Saturday Aug 6, “The Power of Reason--Bill Barker as Thomas Jefferson” at 1pm. “A Conversation about Catherine the Great "Inspiration and Leadership"--Nan Colton” at 2:15pm. No fee. Open to the public. On Mon, Aug 22 at 9:30am join us for The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia, and Alzheimer’s Disease. Get answers to questions about when to be concerned. Memory loss is not a typical part of aging. Did you know Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia? Sometimes the
cause of memory loss is treatable. This course answers your questions and helps unravel the
mystery of dementia as a disease. No fee.
On Monday’s, Aug 1, 8, 15 from 2:30-4:30 attend this three part class about Living with Alzheimer’s: For Middle Stage Caregivers. In the middle stage of Alzheimer’s disease, those who were care partners now become hands-on caregivers. Join us and hear caregivers and professionals discuss helpful strategies to provide safe, effective and comfortable care in the middle stage of Alzheimer’s. No fee, reservations requested. In celebration of National Assisted Living Week join us at the Union Colony Civic Center for the 13th Annual Seniors Got Talent! Thinking of downsizing: Organization and Packing Tips. When it’s time to downsize your living quarters, it’s good to know your options and have a plan.
