7 Thematic Strategies
SEIS Principles• information should be managed as close as
possible to its source
• information is provided once and shared with others for many purposes
• data and information should be readily accessible
• information should be made available to the public after due consideration of the appropriate level of aggregation, given possible confidentiality constraints, and at national level in the national language(s)

What are the benefits of SEIS ?
• at EU level: Increased European capacity Streamlining reporting
• at Member State level: “Report once, use many” Less duplication of efforts
• At Global level: Commitments international conventions Credibility of EU
Ozone-web: Near-real time ozone data
It will set out:
• the political framework for SEIS an integrated and common implementation strategy and
• its links with INSPIRE, GMES/GEOSS and the streamlining and updating of reporting and monitoring provisions of a) thematic legislation both existing and new proposals and b) the Reporting directive, Aarhus Convention, etc;
• suggest policy options to go from 'Concept to Reality'
