We now have our fourth village of three more homes in place. We have always trusted in God. And He has provided us with a great staff for the new village. That is why we built it early. Chris Blake and Chris Surma, our excavators and septic specialists, have done a heroic job along with Ekovich Concrete, our cement contractors in seeing that the new village was completed. God bless them abundantly! Now we will have additional costs. The new homes will have added expenses for staff, food, utilities, gas for the new van etc. This will amount to $12,000 extra per month. We are trusting in God through you. Hopefully, 500 people like you will feel the urging in their hearts to donate $25.00 per month or increase their donations by $25.00. You can make a difference! We are providing a home, not a stable, for people who the Providence of God has limited their working skills. But, I can assure you that God has given them other abilities to love and to pray. You will be remembered in their prayers. I hope and pray that your Christmas is full of joy. And I hope that you have the realization in seeing the historical Christmas crib that this Christmas – there’s a home not a crib for God’s chosen ones. God bless you! THOUGHTS FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTORBy Kathleen Kelly

A friend told me once that we only need three things in life: someone to love, something to do and something to look forwardto. I have been blessed with a wonderful family and great friends so that takes care of someone to love, the complexity of my jobcertainly gives me something to do and life is good and full of surprises so I definitely have something to look forward to. It’s asimple way of looking at life but some times it helps to simplify the busyness of our lives and take a break from the hectic pace torealize that we truly are blessed in so many ways.

Christmas is one of those busy times of year and we tend to get so caught up in preparations that we don’t always take timeto appreciate what really matters. This year, times are even more eventful than usual at Sharing Meadows as we put the finishingtouches on the 4th village to ready it for occupancy. We have been watching each step of the process from excavation of the site topouring the foundations, culminating in the joy of watching the trucks come in carrying the houses and seeing them put in place.Excitement is in the air as we anticipate welcoming new villagers and stewards to our community.

The current villagers realize what a good place Sharing Meadows is and they are eager to share it with others. Recently oneof them was asked what he liked best about Sharing Meadows and he answered, “it’s a loving place.” The feeling of love heexperiences here fills him with joy and he looks forward to letting others in on that joy. What a wonderful way to celebrate thejoy of Christmas!

When I was vacationing in Ireland a few years ago, I attended Mass in a small town in County Kerry. The people were friendlyand welcoming and the best part was the homily given by the pastor in his delightful Irish brogue. He spoke of the importance ofJOY in our lives in order to find true happiness. He went on to say that to experience JOY, we must put Jesus in our lives first, otherssecond and you last. His message has inspired me many times since that day. When I think of the joy that abounds at SharingMeadows, I realize it exists because we do put Jesus first, others second and ourselves last. The Christian community of SharingMeadows is a loving place and we joyfully look forward to watching it grow. May your Christmas season be filled with JOY!

REAL MEANING OF CHRISTMASBy Brian K. Walters

In todays day and time,It’s easy to lose sight,Of the true meaning of Christmas And one special night.

When we go shopping,We say “How much will it cost?”Then the true meaning of Christmas,Somehow becomes lost.

Amidst the tinsel, glitter And ribbons of gold,We forget about the child,Born on a night so cold.

The children look for Santa In his big, red sleigh Never thinking of the baby Whose bed was made of hay.

In reality when we look into the night sky,We don’t see a sleigh But a star, burning bright and high.

A faithful reminder,Of that night so long ago,And of the child we call Jesus,Whose love, the world would know.

THE WELCOME MAT IS OUT AT SHARING MEADOWS

As we watch construction on the new village at Sharing Meadows progressing, wethink about not only the beautiful, comfortable, homes but about the extraordinary peoplewho will live there. Two of the homes will be for females and one for males and whilewe are going through our waiting list, we are still accepting applications for residency. We are searching for the right individuals to join our Christian community and callSharing Meadows home. We look for other abled people who will flourish in acommunity setting while adding to the uniqueness Sharing Meadows by sharing theirown distinctive gifts.

We have a limited number of openings and once they are filled, we won’t be buildingagain for several years. If you have an other abled family member, now is the time toconsider Sharing Meadows. Call our residential coordinator, Bob Hess, at 219-778-2585and he will answer your questions and send you an informational packet. At SharingMeadows, we foster independence while always providing the level of supervision thatis needed. We have witnessed so much growth in our villagers and we realize they arefull of potential and the best is yet to come. The villagers are happy living in communitywith an active social life and friends to share and make memories with.

Perhaps you know of someone who would thrive in our community. If you do, givethem an opportunity to be nurtured to grow to become the person God created them tobe. This opportunity doesn’t come along very often so don’t put it off any longer. Wewant to consider all candidates to find the right ones to call the loving, Christiancommunity of Sharing Meadows their home.
