When “Quality is Free”?

➢ Philip Crosby was right when he said Quality is free, meaning that aninvestment in improving quality pays itself back very promisingly & quickly.

➢ It can be hard to make a sale against a competitor that trades away quality forlower cost, but then claims the same high quality.

➢ This concept leads us to a fact that a judicious investment is needed by every organization in making improvements of products and services.

1. Manage Time Effectively❖ When we are stressed, a lot of negativity and harm is experienced. To avoid this,

prioritize your work.

❖ No matter how unpleasant a task appears to be, prioritize your work in an order and finish them on time.

2.Breathe

❖ To lower your stress levels, it is a must that you find time to breathe.

❖ While you are brushing your teeth or are stuck in traffic breathe in for five seconds,hold for five seconds, then release for five seconds.

❖ Crosby is an advocate of zero defects. According to him, Quality is free in the long run.

❖ He also introduced the Management Maturity Grid to assess management and its current position on quality.

❖ This Grid can help redirect future organizational emphasis on quality.

❖ He offered 14 steps for quality improvement that can be used to implement the Management Maturity Grid.

❖ His contention that zero defect can be achieved and that quality is free have generated a lot of debate.
