Shape Riddles

One way that the Anglo-Saxons entertained themselves was by telling riddles! This week, why don’t you have a go at telling some Anglo-Saxon style riddles about shapes?!

Try to use some figurative language in your riddles, such as similes, metaphors and personification.

There are some example riddles on the next page which you could adapt, improve and build on if you want to.

One of the most famous riddles is the riddle of the Sphinx…can you solve it?

Shape Information Book

Create an information book for other children about shapes. You can do this handwritten or typed. Think carefully about the tone of an information book and the language that they use. Make sure it is interesting and would make other children want to read it.
