• The setting up SHANKARA AGRAHARAM, the Vedic Village, as an Exclusive Brahmin Community Township on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The Assistance might include help with personal hygiene and grooming, dressing and clothes selection, showering and bathing, assistance with eating, continence management, mobility, socialization, and medication management.

The Hospital Complex would comprise of Main Buildings, Treatment Blocks for Gents and Ladies, Dormitories, Shared Rooms, Suites, independent cottages, kitchen & dining areas, staff quarters so as to offer range of services to all sections of patients. The Vedas that Constitute the Scripture common to all and which reveal the Godhead that is common to us also teach, us, how to lead, our life, and this is important they do us the ultimate good by showing us in the end the way to become that very Godhead ourselves. They are our refuge both here and the hereafter and are the source and root of all our different traditions – all our systems of throught. All sects, all schools of thoughts, our religion, have their origin in Vedas. The Root is one but the branches are many. The Vedas are the source not only for the various divisions of Hinduism, but also for all the religions of the world that may be traced back to them.

The Vedas (Sanskrit veda, “ Knowledge”) are a large body of texts originating in ancient India. Composed in Vedic Sanskrit, the texts constitute the oldest layer of Sanskrit literature and the oldest scriptures of Hinduism. The Vedas are apauruSeya (” not of human agency”). They are supposed to have been directly revealed, and thus are called sruti(”what is heard”), them from other religious texts, which are called smrti.(” what is remembered”).

The Vedic texts or sruti are organized around four canonical collections of merical material knows as Samhitas, of which the first three are related to the performance of yahna (sacrifice) in historical Vedic religion:

The Rigveda, containing hymns to be recited by the hotar, or presiding priest;

The Yajurveda, containing formulas to be recited by the adhvaryu or officiating priest;

The Samveda, containing formulas to be sung by the udgatar or priest that chants;

The fourth is the Atharvaveda, a collection of spells and incantations, apotropaic charms and speculative hymns.

GOSHALA

Goshalas are an Indian from of protective shelters for cows. Goshalas focus on treating cows well out of their religious significance in Hinduism and consequent cultural sensitivity towards its welfare.

Goshala or Gaushala, a Sanskrit word (”Go”, means cow and “Shala” means a shelter place: Go + Shala= shelter for cows), means the abode or sanctuary for cows, calves and oxen. Apart from providing sanctuary, the Goshala also rescues the animals destined for illegal slaughter.
