We are past the midway point of 2014 and it feels like the end of the year will be here before we know it. After a relatively slow first half of the year, activity has definitely picked up heading into the second half. New projects we won this last quarter include Olathe, KS and San Jose, CA. We are anticipating a very busy third quarter based on feedback from many of you on open projects and appreciate everyone’s efforts to building the Shand & Jurs market share of the Digester Gas Safety market. In September, we will be exhibiting at the WEFTEC show in New Orleans. Our booth number is 5416 and we would like to encourage you to stop by to see some of our latest offerings from waste gas burner and automatic drip trap controls, to our Expanda-Seal™ technology. Also, please inform your local plant personnel or engineers, who may be at the show this year, to stop by our booth for product demonstrations. It is also a great opportunity for some of our new representatives and new sales personnel to stop by and learn more about our Shand & Jurs equipment.

Heading towards the end of the year, there are some areas that we all should try to concentrate on. One is the extremely long lead times that Varec still seems to have. I think many of you have received feedback firsthand from plants in your area that Varec not only has lead times that are anywhere from 10 -16 weeks on units and parts, but have also been late on top of these long lead times. We have started and need to make a concerted effort to take advantage of this to start displacing all the old Varec equipment that is now coming from China. Remember, Shand & Jurs is all Made in the USA, providing high quality equipment with a much better lead time than the competition.

Constructed with a silicone infused woven glass lining with a 1” thick 6lb. density fiber glass insulating material, the jackets offer an ideal complement along with the “All Weather” Teflon© coating. Insulation jackets are available for pressure and vacuum vents, flame arresters, drip traps, and flame trap assemblies, to name a few.
