Summary:
We love reading (WLR) in cooperation with Shams Ma’an conducted training in (Prince Hussein Culture Center) in Ma’an for 46 Jordanian women on how to read stories for children and how to establish WLR libraries. Out of 46, 35 women opened libraries to read for children in their neighborhoods. In the last 6 months, volunteers have conducted around 123 reading sessions for children in Ma’an and 516 children have been benefited from those reading sessions. 1500 environment books have been printed and distributed to children as well.

Result 1: follow upFollow up Activities:
1 Month follow up:- After 1 month of the training held in Oct, 2016, WLR team conducted the first
follow up activity in Nov, 2016 through phone calls with the volunteers' librarians. The team check-up if the volunteers find an appropriate places to conduct the reading sessions and if they start reading to children.
3 Month follow up:- After 3 Months of the training WLR team conducted another follow-up phone
calls with volunteers to listen to their thoughts and insights, answer their questions and to help in any concerns they might have. During this period, the team also stay in touch with volunteers through SMS and WhatsApp messages.
6 Month follow up: Follow up Preparation:- Taghyeer regional officers contact (Prince Hussein cultural center) Manager in
Ma'an and select appropriate venue for the 6 months follow up Meeting.
- Regional Officers called the volunteers who were trained with We love reading and invited them to the follow up meeting.
- Finalized the training logistics (transportation arrangements and hotel reservation, documents printing and other preparations).
- Prepared the environment stories packages that have been distributed for the children who attend We Love Reading sessions.
Follow up meeting: - An introduction session has been given by the Regional Officer Miss. Sukayna
Anbtawi about the follow-up meeting purpose then the discussion started. Different topics have been highlighted like volunteers' achievements, challenges, suggestions and recommendations to enhance the volunteering experience.
Output 1.1:
Follow up with women who volunteer with We love Reading 6 Month Ago and read aloud to children within the age group from 4 to 10.

Result 2 : Reading sessions visits - The team conducted random sample field visits for some volunteers and attended their reading sessions for children:

Result 3: Books printing and distribution - WLR printed 1500 books in environment subject, the books were classified into two groups according to the age:
o Group A the age between 4-6 years.
o Group B the age between 7-10 years.
- All volunteers who attend the follow up meeting were handed the environment books in order to deliver those books to the children.
- The books were delivered to Ma'an children who attended We Love Reading sessions.
Output 3.1
Print and distribute 1500 environment books.
