6TH ANNUAL “SOUP”ER BOWL FUNDRAISER – It’s time once again for our annual “Soup”er Bowl fundraising event. Every year we continue to work on not only making this a successful fundraiser, but also a fun, exciting, and delicious event for everyone. We invite you to join us on Sunday, February 2, following the morning service. This year’s proceeds will go to furnishing an additional classroom at the Mission Haiti Lines school that Shalom has funded. After the needed funds have been met for the classroom furniture, any excess will go towards installing a basketball court at the Lines school that will be able to be used, not only by the students, but also by the community. **AGAIN THIS YEAR:

We will have a special food area for those who would prefer something other than soup. It will be complete with pizza, hot dogs, mac & cheese and other kid friendly foods.

**NEW THIS YEAR:

We will begin eating approximately at 10:45am. We have also made some changes to the layout of the room and the flow of traffic to get everyone through the line more efficiently.

There will be NO FAST PASS awarded through monetary donations this year. The “Hurry Up Offense” will instead be awarded to 5 people. Sign-up to bring either a SOUP or DESSERT prior to JANUARY 23 and your name will be entered for one of these 5 “Hurry Up Offense” tickets. This will allow you, and everyone in your household, to cut to the front of the line. (**If a Kid Zone teacher is awarded one of these tickets, you will be allowed to bypass the line and go straight to the front when you are ready to eat.)

We will also be introducing a “Ticket Multiplier” award. There will be 4 of these awarded to the same pool of people who have signed up to bring either a SOUP or DESSERT prior to JANUARY 23. If you are awarded one of these, all votes for your respective soup/dessert will be multiplied and added to your final vote count.

You can sign-up by clicking here: http://bit.ly/2QxkyS3. Please refer to the flyer in your box for all details. If you have any questions, please talk to Sarah Lieuwen.

WOMEN’S EVENT – Ladies, is there something you have always wanted to learn how to cook? Do you have a small appliance in your house that you’ve never used because it scares you? Then you are going to want to come to the Women’s Event on Saturday, February 8. We will be learning all the things you never knew how to do, but have always wanted to do in the kitchen. The event will begin at 4pm and will end approximately at 7:30pm. Space will be limited. Watch upcoming midweeks for a link to sign-up. WOMEN’S CONFERENCE – The Set Apart conference is coming to the University of Northwestern in St. Paul on March 6 & 7. Set Apart is built on the foundation of God’s Word. Set Apart offers a time for women to listen, learn, connect and be encouraged in their faith. You’ll be refreshed in your spirit and your heart as you hear from keynote speakers. Experience meaningful worship, learn from dynamic workshops, and enjoy MEN’S CONFERENCE – Jerrad Lopes is a Christian pastor and the founder of DadTired.com, a non-profit ministry focused on equipping men to lead their family well. On February 29, Maurice Reformed Church will host a Dad Tired Conference based on Jerrad Lopes book, Stop Behaving. Registration fee is $25 and will include both breakfast and lunch as well as a devotional. The conference begins at 8:30am and will conclude at 3:30pm. Shalom would love to send a group of men to this event. If you are interested in attending, please talk to Sarah Lieuwen.
