There will be an in-depth look at the History & Culture of the Middle East on the campus of UW-Parkside with exploratory daytrips to Milwaukee & Chicago. A Variety of Speakers throughout the Week: Physical & Human Geography of the Middle East Today, Mid Eastern Dance, History & Cultural Connections, Evolution of Kibbutz, Kelly Bohkari speaks from Dubai, Art & Music of the Middle East, Egypt History, Mythology & Culture. Cooking demonstration, daytrip to Milwaukee: the Milwaukee Public Museum, the Milwaukee Jewish Museum and an Islamic Mosque. Chicago daytrip includes the Oriental Institute, lunch at Cedars Mediterranean Kitchen, a speaker and a stop at the Mid-East Bakery & Grocery. The week includes a number of speakers, coffee breaks, five delicious lunches (all healthy menus) bus transportation, admission to museums in Milwaukee and Chicago. A Week of Learning

June 8 – June 12, 2015

Join us for A Week of Learning 2015. There will be an in-depth look at the History & Culture of the Middle East on the campus of UW-Parkside with exploratory daytrips to Milwaukee & Chicago.

A Variety of Speakers throughout the Week:

Friday Lunch at Cedars Mediterranean Kitchen: lunch will be served family style. Our menu includes: Taboule, Falafel, Baba Ghanooj, Pear and Gorgonzola Salad, Chicken Shawirma, Kefta Kebob (char-grilled ground lamb blended with fresh herbs and spices then rolled on skewers with tomato) will be included, if not, then beef tenderloin kebob, Tagene (vegetarian), Baklava, Rice Pudding, coffee, or tea.
