Click here for High Holidays opportunities at KMS for 5779/2018. Thanks to everyone for getting their High Holidays registrations in by last week's deadline. We have more than 1,200 people who will be at KMS for Rosh Hashanah, an all-time high. The seating committee is working on the seating chart and on honoring as many special requests as possible. If you find you won't need seats that you registered for, please let the office know as soon as possible. Any registrations that come in from now until Yom Tov will be seated in the Sanctuary. Our three other minyanim are full. Click here to register, subject to a $30/seat late fee.
1. Make Your Donations for High Holiday Appeals: KMS will again be having four appeals throughout the High Holidays for our Education, Youth, Israel, and Building funds. Click here to submit your pledge in advance of the holidays.
2. Submit Names for the Yizkor Book: Remember your family members in our annual Yizkor Book. Please submit the form, even if you have participated in the past. Submit names here by Sunday, August 26.
3. Be a Sponsor for the Simchat Torah Gala Kiddush: Recognize family or friends by sponsoring here and help KMS provide a festive Gala Kiddush to follow our ruach-filled tefilla. 4. Submit Names for the Simchat Torah Canopy: Click here to celebrate your children and grandchildren by adding their names to our beautiful Kol Hane'arim Canopy. 5. Order Your Lulav & Etrog: Order here by Thursday, September 6. Pickup will be on September 13 & 17 at KMS. Contact Rabbi Mendlowitz, [email protected] or 301-681-3411 with questions. A portion of the proceeds will benefit KMS.
6. Purchase Memorial Board Plaques: Click here to purchase a plaque for the back of the Sanctuary in memory of a loved one. Plaques are lighted on the yahrzeit and for Yizkor.

ZUMBA CLASSES
Zumba classes will continue through the summer on Tuesdays, 8-9 pm in the social hall. Please note there will not be a class on Tuesday, August 28th. This women-only class is open to the community. Licensed instructors, Mandi Lowenstein, Rachel Falk and Shani Malka, will lead a fun filled hour of dance. $8 per class. All levels welcome even if you have never taken a Zumba class before. AMANDA & JONATHAN MIZRAHI Amanda and Jonathan Mizrahi have been living in Kemp Mill since 2008, with a 2 year gap in Albuquerque, NM. They have been attending KMS since they moved back to Silver Spring in 2015. Jonathan and Amanda are both avid board game players and outdoor enthusiasts. Jonathan is a physicist at a local technology start-up and Amanda works in non-profit.
They have three children - Ethan (6), Ezra (4) and Hannah (2). Their favorite thing about KMS is children's groups on Shabbat - it has been a great way for all of them to make friends since moving back to the area.
GETTING TO KNOW YOU
In an effort to promote the warm community feeling we strive for here at KMS, we introduce you to KMS members each week. We hope you enjoy meeting fellow members and use these bios as a catalyst to introduce yourself to others at KMS.
