Looking at collaborative
projects / programmes
> Initiating activities under the
RCE umbrella
> Projects to be undertaken within the key identified
focus areas
Roles
ApproachThe evaluation process strategized to facilitate internal reflections and bring together key stakeholders so as to take stock of RCE Goa’s activities, its challenges and constraints, and what can be done to overcome them. It thus, generated contextual data for RCE Goa, conducted an appreciative enquiry into RCE Goa activities/initiatives, and used the insights of the analysis to strengthen RCE Goa activity-level
The Evaluation Exercise
Detailed methodologyReporting framework:
Impact Indicators Successful partner/RCE work Areas where RCE work would bring impact and
perspective directions of workBattery of questions:
What according to you are fairly good indicators of success (for RCE Goa’s work)?
Please highlight a few activities/initiatives/programmes/projects that you have undertaken as an RCE Goa partner, and/or, in individual capacity (in your focus area of work).
What according to you is/should be the most important focus of work for RCE Goa? Where would you like to see changes/improvements?
…Contd.
Outcomes
Impact indicatorsRecognition of RCE projects and outcomes Increasing number of committed partnersIncreasing activity levelEngagement with key stakeholders in the identified thrust areasIncreasing media partnersAbility to leverage funds Qualitative and quantitative impacts of RCE interventions
Perspective directions work and impact areasAwareness for the general public through websites, social media/blogs, and an e-newsletter Empowerment and engagement of youth by focusing on programmes through lecture/workshop, art & craft and the performing arts mediumWork with rural communities on the issue of waste, resources and traditional livelihoods Policy-driven research involving key local issues requiring attention and interventionDevelopment and pooling in of resources towards Information, Education and Communication material Development and contribution towards curriculum incorporating key regional sustainability issues
Challenges of inactive partners and funding availability: All partners should be willing to commit themselves so as to create a pool of dedicated and committed partnersNeed to bring in a stronger sense of ownership and belonging amongst partnersDue to lack of funding, only on going activities can be showcased under the RCE Goa banner, this again limits all partners coming on board with equal commitment levels
Learning and follow ups…
All RCEs to share their experiences on the evaluation process they just underwent

Experience Sharing…
• Why do you consider RCE evaluation an
important exercise for an RCE? • How do you think the RCE can benefit from
it? • What does it entail for the region in which
the RCE operates?• What are the main elements of the exercise
that ensure it to be a valuable M&E tool? • How would you like to design, streamline
and structure the evaluation exercise? • Please detail out the approach,
methodology and stakeholders.
…The Framework
Continue to pursue evaluation of RCEs that would
like to undergo the process along the appreciative inquiry lines (RCE Bangalore, RCE Western Jalisco and a few RCEs in Africa).
Collect case studies/different methodological approaches towards RCE Evaluation and Assessment As a stand alone exercise OR Inbuilt into ongoing RCE activities OR Reporting frameworks
