ProfessionalStaff

The Connecticut Veterans’ Home, founded in 1864, was the first in the nation and the tradition of caring for our Veterans continues today at the Sgt. John L. Levitow Healthcare Center (HCC) atour scenic Rocky Hill Campus where ourteam of professionals carries on themission of “Serving Those Who Served”.

Long-Term Care

The HCC is licensed by the CT Department of Public Health (DPH) and certified by both the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to provide long-term skilled nursing care to Veterans with medical conditions requiring 24-hour clinical care.

CompassionateCare

Upon entering the Healthcare Center, an immediate feeling of community, care, comfort and camaraderie between the Veterans and staff is apparent. Veterans are our top priority and it shows.

Residents enjoy private and semi-private accommodations with en suite bathrooms and an expansive view overlooking the Connecticut River valley. We offer extensive therapeutic and recreational activities, including pet therapy and special events recognizing our Resident’s military service. Our residents also enjoy selective menus accommodating therapeutic diets, transportation to medical appointments and a very supportive environment.

Our highly trained clinical and support staff is dedicated to providing multi-dimensional compassionate care to meet the unique clinical and emotional needs of Veterans. We pride ourselves in caring for our Veterans and honoring their service to our Nation.

Palliative Care For Veterans no-longer seeking curative treatment who have opted for comfort care our staff is well equipped to meet these needs through the provision of pain management, spiritual and emotional support while maintaining their quality of life in a supportive atmosphere.
