Welcome to SGIA…The School is one of the fastest growingdepartments of politics and internationalrelations in the UK. Our mastersprogrammes reflect the School’s missionto develop excellence in regional studieswithin the disciplinary contexts of politics,international relations and internationalpolitical economy.

Our programmes are taught by worldexperts in their field, many of whom workclosely with international organisations,policymaking bodies, and civil societynetworks to ensure that our teaching isresearch-led and relevant to the world ourgraduates will work in. Programmes arestructured to allow students to tailor theirlearning to their own specific interests.Compulsory modules are combined with

choices from a wide portfolio of optionalmodules, with additional language and key skills training also being available.Master students are encouraged toparticipate in the extensive programme of research-based activities which takeplace within the School and through ourcollaborative partnerships with otherresearch institutes, universities and public and private sector organisations.

Entry RequirementsAcademic: a good honours degree (2:1) or equivalent from a recogniseduniversity in a relevant subject. Language: IELTS test (preferred) with a totalscore of 7.0 with no component within that score lower than 6.5, OR TOEFLIBT with overall score of 102 with no component within that score lower than25. The validity of a test is two years. Pearson Academic PTE –overall score of 70 (with no score below 62 in any component).
