Application Processor Overview

Application Field Replaceable Units• The Application Processor (AP) Chassis, motherboard, CPUs• Power supplies in the AP• Disk drives in the AP• FC HBAs in the AP• Fans in the AP• DIMMs in the AP• RMM3 PCB (BMC)

The application processor (AP) is the INTEL SR2600 (URBANA) server that runs the VTL software and CentOS Linux Operating System. The AP provides the interfacebetween the SAN clients and the SGI COPAN storage subsystem. The HBA performs low-level I/O functions with minimal involvement from the controller and controller processors.

Lab ProjectUsing applicable service documentation, you will be given 45 minutes to:

• Perform FRU replacement procedures• Observe LEDs under normal conditions• Access the BMC and run various commands to determine state, status, temperature, voltages, etc….• View Logs• Download and review the procedure to configure the RAID card. Perform this procedure as time allows.
