First Sunday of Advent to stand before the Son of Man
This is our hope. This is why we get up in the morning. Not for the drudgery of this world, but for the chance to live with God in heaven in everlasting ecstasy. We are given little glimpses of what could happen in heaven when we lift our voices in the Holy Holy Holy, the conse-cration of the Mass and laughter of friends and family are all little vignettes of what heaven might be like. Let us get caught up in the Advent spirit today. Let us sweep out all the old dust and pollen of sin and grudg-es and get the house ready to bring home the new baby. Advent-preparing for the big event, the light of the world coming to earth-we loose the “Gloria” for 4 weeks but, gain so much on Christmas morning.

comparecer seguros ante el Hijo del Hombre Esta es nuestra esperanza. Por eso nos levantamos por la mañana. No por la mo-notonía de este mundo, sino por la oportunidad de vi-vir con Dios en el cielo en un éxtasis eterno. Se nos da un pequeño vistazo de lo que podría suceder en el cie-lo cuando alzamos nuestras voces en el Santo Santo Santo, la consagración de la Misa y la risa de amigos y familiares son todas pequeñas viñetas de cómo po-dría ser el cielo. Atrapémonos en el espíritu de Ad-viento hoy. Barramos todo el polvo viejo y el polen del pecado y los rencores y preparemos la casa para llevar a casa al nuevo bebé.
