  • Objectives and Aims: 1. to sustain our Sandringham foreshore & neighbouring beaches 2. to preserve its natural beauty and aesthetic value 3. to prevent sand and cliff erosion 4. to maintain healthy clean beaches and cliffs 5. to conserve natural wildlife e.g. marine life, native flora and fauna 6. to ensure a sense of place 7. to ensure archaeological and cultural sites are protected 8. to conserve cultural values .......for all ages and future generations to enjoy. The Brighton, Hampton, Sandringham, Black Rock and Beaumaris beaches are one of the primary reasons that draw Bayside residents to choose to live in this area and for residents outside of Bayside to visit. Artistic and cultural appreciation of Sandringham foreshore Sandringham foreshore and its neighbouring beaches are undoubtedly one of the most beautiful coastlines in Victoria with its sweeping shore line meeting sandstone cliffs and native vegetation. This area has been treasured for its natural beauty over the years by artists, residents, visitors and tourists, and has become particularly well known through the work of the famous Australian artists. The Bayside coastline is noted for its outstanding beauty and has been painted by many famous artists, with many paintings on display. Some of these works were exhibited in 2007 titled Australian Impressionism at the Ian Potter Gallery in Federation

Square-part of the National Gallery of Victoria. The show was an enormously successful collection of some of Australia's best loved pictures from the 1880s to early twentieth century. The collection included masterworks by noted artist Charles Conder, including "Sandringham" painted in 1890 and held by the National Gallery of Art, Canberra, and "Rickett's Point", also painted in 1890, held by the National Gallery of Victoria. Other paintings by Tom Roberts of the time touched on similar bay-side scenes.
