What is harassment?

• Harass (verb) …to harass someone

– To annoy continually

– HARASSMENT IS DEFINED BY THE PERSON BEING HARASSED (recipient)!!!

• If it doesn’t bother them then it isn’t considered harassment

How do you feel if you’rebeing harassed?

• Uncomfortable• Intimidated• Angry• Violated

• Invaded• Insecure• Dirty• DISTRESS

If your GUT is telling you something is wrong, then it probably is!

Examples of Sexual Harassment

1. Sexual comments or jokes– About a person’s body, clothing, or gender

2. Writing sexual messages on notes or walls

– Degrading materials: graffiti, posters, calendars

3. Spreading sexual rumors

6. Inappropriate touching– Pinching, patting, brushing up against
