JOHN PAUL II ACADEMY

IT’S CARNIVAL TIME AT JPIIA! February 24th - 4pm to 8pm

The JPIIA students and staff cordially invite you to attend

John Paul II Academy's first ever Carnival. The carnival

will feature traditional games, prizes, face painting, raffles,

silent auction and more! Come hungry - what's a carnival

without food? We will have traditional carnival foods for

purchase such as hot dogs, cotton candy and popcorn in

addition to a very special taco dinner sponsored by Mi

Tierra. Yum!

SCHOLASTIC CHALLENGE Congratulations to this year's Scholastic Challenge team -

Emily Winkler, Jacob Murray and Makaelyn Trujillo. Scho-

lastic Challenge is a fast-paced trivia/general knowledge

competition for Racine area schools hosted by St. John Ne-

pomuk. The team will be competing the following dates:

February 21st at 7:45 and 8:15 PM

If they advance they will play again on February 23rd

for more information please call Paul Steimle 639-9774.

SOLE HOPE

2nd and 8th Grades will be working on a service project at

the end of February. We will be cutting patterns and bun-

dling fabric to send to Uganda to help provide shoes to tod-

dlers! In order to make our project a success, we are looking

for any old denim you have in your house. If they have

holes or small stains, no problem - we will still be able to use

them for a great cause! Please drop at school by Friday,

February 17th.

FAITHGROUPS: What is it?

FaithGroups is a small-group ministry at Sacred Heart.

Groups of 5 to 10 parishioners meet to discuss faith and

life. The parish provides a video message based on the

readings of the previous Sunday, and a few questions to

facilitate a faith-based discussion.

Why should you join one?

It is in these small groups that our large Church becomes a

small Church. We are providing the environment where

individuals can grow as disciples. People will be chal-

lenged to become authentic and accountable about what is

really going on in their lives in a safe and supportive place.

Intentional faith-based relationships are key to sustained

spiritual growth. Members pray and care for one another,

and develop friendships with other growing disciples.

When, where are the meetings?

Groups meet at different locations (usually the home of the

Faithgroup Facilitator) once a week. The meetings last an

hour and a half. This will be a five week session starting the

week of March 5th. Sign up forms are available on the in-

formation desk and also on our website:

http//www.sacredheart.com/#/ministries/faithgroups

Join a FaithGroup now and grow your faith!

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION Did you know that John Paul II Academy collects Box

Tops? Did you also know that each box top is worth 10

cents and a free and easy way to help our school and class-

rooms? You can find the pink Box Top on hundreds of par-

ticipating products. Just clip it off the product, collect them

in ziplock bags or envelopes and deposit them in the Box

Top receptacle located in Haban Hall. We encourage you to

ask relatives, friends, and neighbors to clip those Box Tops

too! During the month of February, we have a school wide

competition. The classroom that collects the most Box Tops

will earn a free dress down and popcorn day. If you would

like your box tops to count toward a child or classroom

please write their name and grade on the bag or envelope.

Thank you and happy clipping!

For more info about Box Tops for Education or a list of par-

ticipating products visit www.BTFE.com

Thank you for your gifts

of Time, Talent and Treasure!
