Yes we are, and thanks to the team of the Almabani IT Developers led by Mr. Ahmad Zoul who managed to create an in-house connected and productive system that is the new Time Management System.

In the new era of technology, where our life is fully governed by communications, a great part thereof has come to define our daily behavioral communicative manners, where we are never disconnected from our family, our friends and our work environment in real time world, and here is the catch, the new system allows all employees to monitor timing on a daily basis and their progress which in return will lead to a better personal control and judgment over ones advancement. This integrates new behavioral standards that match the new world we are living in.

To give information is to give more power. You can choose to do whatever you want with the information you have on hand. But wouldn't it be great to use this unprecedented form of communication and the privilege we have access to, in a way that might cause positive change?

Food for thought…

completed along with the connection to the three surrounding taxiways (R, D3 & C) which were handed over to the Airport Operations. Several other works were also completed such as the construction of 450 Lm box culverts, 8 fuel hydrant chambers and 3700 meters of 20” fuel pipelines in addition to another 4100 meters of 12” and 700 Lm of 6" hydrant pipelines that were constructed. ObstaclesThe new main fuel 20” network diversion works and all related activities are still on hold due

to additional stringent Aramco requirements; Meetings with GACA and ARAMCO representatives are held in order to conclude matters that are causing delays to the project’s completion date, thus increasing our direct and indirect expenses for reasons beyond our responsibility.Consequently, and in order to preserve Almabani's rights, a claim was prepared and submitted to the Client for their review.

GSE Tunnel King Abdulaziz International AirportAn Insight Report

10The Almabani Journal . Issue No. 21 . April - June, 2018

The Tunnel, having a T shape geometry, crosses the central runway and all adjacent taxiways from the west and exit into the new airport zones from the South to reach the Phase 1 Terminal and the North to connect in the future to Phase 2 and 3 areas respectively.

The width of the tunnel is 20m to 25m divided into two barrels, each servicing a travel direction. The covered length of the tunnel is approximately 1 km and the open length is around 800m; a big roundabout is constructed at the intersection of the south and north exits to regulate circulation.

GENERAL VIEW OF THE TUNNEL

King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah

GSE TUNNEL IS CONSIDERED TO BE THE MAIN ROAD CONNECTING THE OLD AIRPORT FACILITIES TO THE NEW AIRPORT. THE TUNNEL'S MAIN PURPOSE IS TO FACILITATE GSE VEHICLES TO MOVE BETWEEN THE NEW AIRPORT AND ALL APRONS AND FACILITIES LOCATED WEST OF THE CENTRAL RUNWAY. THE TUNNEL WAS NECESSARY TO REDUCE THE GSE VEHICLES TIME TRAVEL AND TO IMPROVE THE AIRPORT OPERATION'S STRATEGY.

In addition to the main structure, the tunnel structure accommodates many technical rooms and bays to house electro-mechanical equipment for the tunnel operation and safety. The tunnel construction formed a big challenge for the construction team, being in interference with major taxiways and central runway. The tunnel had to be constructed in small portions to keep the airport operational as long as possible. The last remaining part of construction which

was obstructed by live utilities and facilities and which originally required more than 5 months to complete were expedited to be finished in only two months and support the soft opening as planned and requested by the client. To this purpose, Almabani deployed more than 800 of its manpower working around the clock on all Civil and Electro Mechanical activities to ensure the project’s delivery on time.

What made this project challenging was that Almabani had to design, deploy, install and test the different systems, including the deployment of

three separate Fiber Optic networks for SCADA, BLUE LIGHT STATION IP Phones, and FIRE ALARM System, which spanned over 16Kms.

In addition, the Special Systems Division installed Fiber Optic Linear Detectors in all the SRO Tunnels. This special Fiber Optic Cable senses and monitors the tunnel temperature at one-meter interval and is used to detect fire conditions. Almabani team terminated/spliced 900 fibers in a period of 40 days. A selection of the highest quality products was used in this scope, implementing a high

standard of work and rigorous testing procedures.Almabani’s Special Systems Division is in the process of having the Fiber Optic passive works checked and certified by 3M. In return 3M will grant Almabani a 20-year warranty on products for the Fiber Optic works implemented within the SRO project.

IT Help Desk TipsHow to Take a Screenshot on iPhone X

18

Without a Home button, how do you take a screenshot on iPhone? Previous models of iPhone took a screenshot when you clicked both the Home button and Sleep/Wake button (now considered the Side button). But taking a screenshot on iPhone X is slightly different, though not different enough to make it any more of a hassle. With iOS 11, a preview of your screenshot appears

in the lower left corner immediately after taking the shot. You can then immediately mark up the image or even delete it if the screenshot was taken by mistake. So we'll cover all the ways you can edit a screenshot you've just taken on your iPhone X. Here’s how to take a screenshot on iPhone X and how to edit it with iOS 11.

The Almabani Journal . Issue No. 21 . April - June, 2018

• Click and release both the Side button and Volume Up button.

This will take the screenshot. You’ll see a smaller preview of the screenshot immediately appear in the lower left corner of the screen. You can swipe left over the screenshot to dismiss it, which will automatically save the shot to your Photos app. Or you can tap on the screenshot to edit it.

IT Help Desk TipsiPhone Frozen? How to Hard Reset iPhone X

If your iPhone X is stuck on the Apple logo, a spinning wheel, a completely black screen, or otherwise frozen, one quick method for getting everything back to normal is a force restart. There are lots of different names people call this procedure; a hard restart, force shutdown, a hard reset, or even a hard reboot. What all these terms refer to, though, is the same thing; forcing your iPhone to turn off in such a way that it has to completely reboot when you turn

Don't worry; a hard reset won't cause your iPhone X to lose any data or settings. To begin:

• Quickly click and release the Volume Up button.• Quickly click and release the Volume Down button.• Click and hold the Side button.

• Keep holding the Side Button. The Slide to Power Off screen will appear; do not slide to power off. Continue to hold down the Side button until your screen goes black. • The Apple logo will appear once your iPhone X begins to power back up. • Release the Side Button once you see the Apple logo.

it back on. This iPhone X reboot allows your device to restart with refreshed memory and, hopefully, minus the glitches. This isn't something you want to do every time you turn off your iPhone; it’s more of a last resort when your iPhone is acting wonky or freezes completely. A hard reset is a bit more complicated on the iPhone X than on other iPhones, so let's learn how to reboot your iPhone X.
