Seasons Greetings!

We are happy to release our second volume of Setu. The past few months have

truly been a roller coaster ride. It’s been a time full of opportunities, a time

full of learning and a time well spent; learning and enjoying with friends all

at the same time. The Shishyans have been competitive at times and have

even lent a helping hand on various occasions. It has indeed been a delightful

period, wherein our Shishyans have been able to win a lot of accolades and

prizes for themselves and the school. Besides, they are gearing up to put up

two mega events Pratibimb and Anugoonj.

Every child is gifted. They just unwrap their packages at different times.

Senior KG

The second Parent Teacher Meeting

for Senior KG to Class II was held on

8th December 2018 and for Classes

III - V, it was held on 15th December

2018.

We are already halfway through our academic session. A

lot of learning has taken place. The little ones are now

comfortable with the school routine and rules. They are

quite confident and are showing preparedness for the

next class. Learning at school for this group of children is

always fun. Take a sneak peek at some of the activities

The beautiful presentation on Hindi Diwas included a skit, an

interview which showed the importance of Hindi, some songs and

recitation of Hindi poems.



Navratri Celebrations

GARBA WITH FRIENDS

Interesting indoor and outdoor games and a special meal were planned for the

Shishyans of Sr. KG - Class IV to celebrate Children’s Day. The children had a

great time with their educators and friends. The Students of Class V enjoyed

themselves at the annual school fete Utsav. They took home memories they will

cherish for a long time.



Christmas and New Year Assembly

A grand assembly celebrating the spirit of Christmas was held

in the auditorium. Children of Class II enacted a skit

‘Everyone is Special’, the central character of which was

Rudolph the reindeer. It carried the message that every one is

special and unique. Another group of Shishyans danced to the

tunes of the carol Jingle Bells while some performed on the

beautiful song We are the World. The students of all the

classes participated in interactive discussions on Christmas.

The students of Classes III, IV and V adorned the soft boards

and their classrooms with Christmas decorations.


SAMAGAM - SAHODAYA INTER SCHOOL EVENTS

An inter school group singing competition was hosted by our school on

Friday, 07th of September 2018. It was held under the aegis of the Sahodaya group of schools for the students of age group 10-12. Seventeen

schools from the city participated in this competition. The panel of judges consisted of renowned personalities from the world of

music - Mrs. Rasika Gawde, Mr. Sunil Sharma and Mr. Baljinder Singh. The students of Sri Satya Sai Vidya Vihar, Delhi Public School and The Bhavan’s Prominent International School bagged the trophies for the three

best performances.

Gupta (VF) and Ishaan Khandelwal were part of the choir group that represented the school at an inter-school group singing competition hosted by The Choithram School, Manik Bagh.

Shishyans of Class IV enjoyed their turn at the various intra class

games held for them for over a month. The Sports Department

organized chess, football, cricket, swimming, squash, table tennis

and basketball matches to promote and polish the talent of the

Shri Basantilal Ji Sethia Non Medalist Swimming Competition

Inter School Basketball Tournament (U-14)

Sufi Bhatnagar from Class V A and Satya Ladha

from VF were selected in the U-14 Girls and

U-14 Boys basketball team respectively. They

played for the school team in the Sahodaya

inter school basketball tournament held in The

Shishukunj International School.

Shri Basantilal Ji Sethia Non Medalist Swimming

Competition is held every year to promote and motivate

children who have shown potential and who need an extra

push to enter the other keenly fought competitions.

Swimmers of around 20 schools participated in the event.

Aadyaa Bose Zamindaar (VE, U-14), Sujay Jain (VF, U-

14), Sukhraj Singh Chhabra (VF, U-11), Tinish Sethi

(VB,U-11), Aarav Porwal (IIIB,U-11) and Arnav Lunia

(IIIB, U-11) represented the school in the CBSE West

Zone Inter School Chess Tournament held at G.D.

Goenka Public School, Gwalior from 3rd October 2018

to 5th October 2018. Aadhya Bose Zamindaar was part

of the team that won the Gold. The U-14 Boys Team

secured the 5th position and the U-11 team clinched

the 7th position.

Sanjay Kasliwal Memorial All India Fide Rating Chess Tournament which was

held at The Emerald Heights International School, Indore from 26th October

2018 to 29th October 2018.

Naisha Jain secured the 2nd position in the U-8 Girls Category, Aarav Porwal

secured the 2nd position in the U-8 Boys’ Category, Kiyan Porwal secured the 1st

position in the U-6 Boys Category and Sujay Jain secured the 2nd position in the

U-8 in the U-12 Boys category.

won the bronze medal in the Battle of

Brains Chess Tournament held at

Billabong High School on 09th December

2018. Sparsh Shah (III G), Kiyan Porwal

(I A), Chitransh Garg (III), Sujay Jain (VF)

and Sukhraj Singh Chhabra (VF) also

participated in this event.

Inter School Squash Tournament

Daksh Firoda (IIIA), Anay Mehta (IV G), Kushagra Saklecha (IV F),

Aashna Goyal (IVF), Reet Goyal (IV D), Aarush Khandelwal (IV C), Parth

Agrawal (VC) and Rishi Porwal (III G) represented the school in the

Central India Squash Open Tournament held at Daly College from 08th

September 2018 to 12th September 2018.

Ashana Goyal (IVF) won the Runner-up trophy in

the U-11 (Squash) Girls Category at the Emerald

Cup Indore Open Tournament organized by Indore

Tennis Club from 5th December 2018 to 8th

December 2018. The other Shishyans who

represented the school are Rishi Porwal (IIIG),

Ansh Agrawal (IVG), Aarush Khandelwal (IVC),

Our budding skaters brought laurels to the school at the Decathalon

Skating Tournament on 09th December 2018. Anshita Virwani (Sr.

KG), Yashvi Garg (Sr.KG Blue), Yukti Sharma (III) and Akshita Darda

(III) won the Gold, Veerdev Singh (I), Jagvi Arora (II) and Nilay Porwal

(IVB) bagged the Silver whereas Arnav Sharma (SR KG white), Advait

Mundra (Sr. KG Green) and Viraj Singh Choudhary (III) won the

bronze medal. The Shishukunj International School won the Junior

Championship.
