Setting your Default MFA Method for Remote Desktop Access

1. Visit https://aka.ms/mfasetup and sign in with your BHI email address or

[email protected] and password:

2. You will be brought to the ’Security Info’ page once logged in. Select ‘Change’ to amend your

default method to either ‘Microsoft Authenticator—Notification’.

NOTE: You may need to log out and in again for these changes to take effect. Please note: You will need to register for Multifactor authentication prior to proceeding with the

following steps.

Once you have registered for Microsoft Azure Multifactor authentication (MFA), you can

follow the below instructions to connect to the BHIG network via Remote Desktop.

Yet to register for Multifactor authentication? Please refer to the ‘Staff Password Re-

sets—Authenticator App’ Guide on the Technology Solutions ‘How To’ page.

1. Open Internet Explorer and visit: myremote.boxhill.edu.au

3. Select ‘Connect’:

2. Log in with your BHI Username and Password:

4. You will be see the following displayed:

You will receive a request to approve login to your mobile device during this time.

5. You will be prompted to approve log in as seen below on the mobile device you

have configured MFA on, select ‘Approve’:

6. You can now access remote desktop. Please note no documents should be saved

outside G drive, Our space and other approved platforms to ensure no data loss.

NOTE: Should you receive the below error you have not correctly configured your ac-

count for multi-factor authentication. Please refer to the ‘Staff Password Resets—

Authenticator App’ guides for iPhone and Android devices on the Technology Solutions
