―We Are Called‖

Watch! Prepare! Hope! Listen! As we draw closer to the birth of our Savior, let us continue to keep the spirit of our Advent preparations in mind. We conclude week three, HOPING joyfully for Christ’s coming. We look forward to week four when we will LISTEN to God speaking to us as he did to Mary.

Upcoming Liturgies: Friday, December 16, 2011, 10:00 A.M.

Wednesday, December 21, 2011 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 4, 2012, 10:00 A.M. - The Feast of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton

Thank you to all who donated to our Christmas collection for the Christ Child Society. Spiritual goal: Mary is the perfect model for us. Her heart was ready for God to act in her life. Our goal is to make sure our hearts are also ready. Empty them of what is false and selfish and fill them with love.

Christmas Blessings to you and your family!

Prayers for Christmas Prayer before opening gifts …

Let us just for a moment, Lord, hold this time in our hearts.

It is about mysteries and gratitude, unknowing and wrong sizes, snippets of ribbon and screams of delight.

Help us to remember the immense love you have for each of us in this room. With each gift that is opened, no matter how perfect or not,

let us feel again the many ways you gift us each day, especially with your presence in our hearts and the presence of each other in our lives. Amen

Prayer before Christmas dinner …

God of all gifts, we thank you for the many ways you have blessed us this day.

We are grateful for each of those who are gathered around this table. We ask you to bless us and our food and to bless those we love who are not with us today.

In our gratitude and love, we remember your humble birth into our lives and pray for those who are without enough to eat.

We remember the stable in which you were born and pray for those who have no place to live. We remember your challenging message of caring and giving and we pray for peace

in families and nations throughout the world. We bless you and give you thanks in your Spirit

who brings our hearts to life this Christmas Day and forever. Amen.

By participating in various time-honored traditions and prayer - Catholic families engage more fruitfully in the seasons of Advent and Christmas. The Church celebrates Christmas from Christmas Day until the Solemnity of the Epiphany.

Wishing you and your families a very blessed Christmas!

WISH LIST ITEMS

Are you doing some year-end cleaning or downsizing to make room for Christmas? Are you “trading up” for the

latest model TV, camera, or video camera in the near future? Maybe your business is getting new furniture, office or

conference room chairs.

While Seton isn’t looking for just any possible item, think about calling us to see what could be a tremendous

benefit to the school before you send it elsewhere. Like any other nonprofit entity, we can certainly use in-kind

donations of specific items that could help us forego expenses. And, like other nonprofits, Seton can send you the

appropriate tax documentation of any gift to the school.

Before you, a loved one, a friend, or a business upgrades or downsizes, consider calling or emailing Bill Cushwa

to see if there might be a perfect, immediate match to a need here at Seton. Thanks!

Christmas Possibilities!

As the dust has settled from A Night to Remember 2011 and winning bidders now have their prized items, we

find ourselves with a few remaining gems looking for a home. There are several remaining items of great value that can

make wonderful gifts for you or a loved one. We are putting those items up for bid via silent auction bidding sheets here

at school. The items (or pictures of the items) will be displayed with their accompanying bid sheet in the development

office off of the Narthex. Bidding will close at the end of school December 16. Here is a sampling of some of the items –

all with new opening bid amounts! For more information, contact Bill Cushwa at (330) 342-4200, extension 232.
