Included in this report is a summary of The Prep’s fund-raising success from this past year and the names of all those who have made our work possible. We are deeply blessed to have these wonderful supporters. Their help allows The Prep to provide a strong and comprehensive experience for the young men we serve.

The high school years are among the most formative in a student’s life, encompassing the years when he moves from adolescence into early adulthood. The lessons he learns now affect who he will become and how he interacts with the world for the rest of his life. At Seton Hall Prep, we want our students to enter adulthood as young men with intellectual strength, moral integrity and social respon-sibility. Therefore, our mission is to nurture the whole man— intellectually, spiritually, socially, and physically. Our mission is strengthened through the generosity of our Seton Hall Prep Family.

In fiscal year 2014, our Seton Hall Prep family supported us through the Annual Appeal, as well as with gifts to scholarship support, Griffin Bridges, events, and our

“Generations” Capital Campaign. As of June 30, 2014, we are more than three-quarters of the way to our cam-paign’s $20,000,000 goal to fund the new Science Wing, the second phase of the Kelly Athletic Complex, and the Endowment Fund. An anonymous alumnus approached The Prep this past year and offered the Rev. Msgr. Michael E. Kelly ’57 $1,500,000 Challenge, which, to encourage additional giving, matches 30% of all leadership gifts. There is no more exciting time than now to be a member of The Prep Family.

Work on the final phase of the Kelly Athletic

Complex began in earnest in November 2014. The

plans call for a pair of baseball fields, five tennis courts, a locker

and refreshment facility, augmented bleacher seat-ing on the existing game

field and parking.

Exciting things are happening at the Prep. Enrollment continues to be strong and our inno-vative educational programs now include students enrolled in The Prep’s first international group. Students continue to achieve outstanding results academically. More students than ever are enrolled in advanced placement courses gaining admissions to the most com-petitive colleges in the nation. The Prep continues to excel in athletics and a wide range of co-curricular activities which provides an opportunity for students to broaden their

horizons, explore new interests and develop talents they will enjoy for a lifetime. As stated in The Prep’s Mission Statement, we remain committed to each student’s intel-lectual growth rooted in spiritual awareness. After a great deal of study and reflection on the needs of The Prep a capital campaign, “Generations” was launched with goal of raising $20 million. As a result of the tireless efforts of Father Mike and the members of the development team, we are entering the final phase of the campaign and are within range of reaching our goal. This would not have been possible without the generosity of many members of the Prep community. To reach our

goal, a request will be sent to all alumni in the coming months. We invite your participation.

What is even more exciting is that The Prep students are already enjoying the benefits of this campaign. The science wing is fully operational, more than 18 classrooms have been totally renovated to provide classroom space to accommodate other academic disciplines and construction on the expanded development on the Kelly Athletic Complex has begun.

For those of you who have had an opportunity to visit the main Prep campus, in addition to seeing the science wing, you saw the tremendous improvement made as a result of the installation of field turf on the Verducci field designed to accommodate baseball, football, lacrosse and soccer. This facility also provides much needed space for physical education classes and for intramural sports.

This past year also saw a change in the administrative structure at The Prep with the appointment of Msgr. Kelly as President and the appointment of Msgr. Harahan as Head-master. The entire Prep community is blessed to have such dedicated priests to lead us as we prepare to face the many challenges ahead.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the faculty, administrators, priest community and the school’s 970 students, I would like to express our sincere appreciation to each and every member of The Prep family for your generous support and for your commitment to the mission that is Seton Hall Prep.

Dear friends of Seton Hall Prep,

It is truly humbling to serve as Seton Hall Prep’s Director of Institutional Advance-ment after 17 years in The Admissions Office here. I am keenly aware of the unique responsibility and honor it is to be working so closely with our School President, Msgr. Kelly, to help secure the future of The Prep for generations. It has already

been both rewarding and fruitful to meet with many kind and generous Prep friends, families and alumni all around the country.

We are all blessed to be part of this very special legacy that bonds us together. The Prep’s vast network, unique tradition and rich history that we share spans nearly 160 years. The future of our school remains bright, largely by virtue of the generous financial support from all of the good people in our community. We are extremely

grateful for those who give back and make it possible for us to continue to provide the very best for our young men during four of the most important and memorable years of their lives.

Your giving allows The Prep to continue innovating and meeting the demands of the 21st Century educational landscape, while also ensuring that hard-working families can offer their deserving sons the opportunity to experience this great school. Each gift directly impacts the lives of these young men in countless ways. Our average class size is now at 18 students and each of our 50 classrooms is outfitted with the latest educational technology. We recently opened a 10,000 sq. ft. state-of-the art science center and have broken ground on the next phase of The Kelly Athletic Complex on Prospect Avenue. We are able to offer both need-based and merit-based scholarships to the most worthy students, assisting their families with tuition; and we now have more courses, more co-curricular activities, and more service and spiritual opportunities than ever before. We are indeed educating the whole man among the best of America’s Catholic High Schools.

The pages that follow exemplify the giving spirit of our community. These individu-als have affirmed their belief in The Prep and have invested in its future. Annual sup-port is vital to the health and strength of our school, and I ask each of you to join us this year and contribute to further the mission. I have personally promised Msgr. As The Prep’s Director of Alumni Relations I thank all of our alumni for their finan-cial support in making this year’s Annual Appeal such a successful one. Through your generosity, The Prep is able to keep tuition costs at an affordable level so that

families can send their sons to this highly respected college preparatory school with an exceptional his-tory of education for over 150 years. The Prep’s dedi-cated faculty is instrumental in preparing our young men for the many challenges facing them in college and life in general.

This past December Msgr. Kelly, Director of Insti-tutional Advancement Matt Cannizzo and I had the opportunity to travel to the west coast to meet with many of our California Alumni. The turnout, enthu-siasm, and hospitality of our alumni made for a very successful trip, and reinforced the notion that no

matter where you travel the brotherhood and love for The Prep continues to grow, stronger no matter how many years or miles removed one is. The Alumni Office offers our alumni numerous opportunities during the year to stay connected to The Prep Community— from Alumni Networking Breakfasts to Happy Hours, Class and Athletic Team Reunions, Golden Knights Luncheons, the Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner, Homecoming, Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, and Young Alum-ni Day. Even when the school year ends we continue to offer events for alumni, such as the Spring Golf Outing and our annual Summer Sizzle in July at the Jersey Shore.

The Alumni Mentoring Program has grown to over 100 alumni who have volunteered their time to give back to The Prep by giving guidance to our young alumni regarding career related issues. The Mentoring Program has proven to be a very rewarding ex-perience for our alumni mentors, who have had the opportunity to watch the growth of our young alumni through career paths that have paralleled their own.

OUR MISSION

Seton Hall Preparatory School is a Catholic, college-

preparatory school called to serve young men of

diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. Firmly

rooted in our Catholic identity, our mission is to

foster the spiritual, intellectual, social and physical

growth of our students in order to prepare them

to meet the challenges of college and adulthood

in a manner that embodies the values that this

community cherishes. Among these values we
