Why Structural Engineering?I originally wanted to major in physics in college, but my high school physics teacher recommended that I choose to pursue a career in engineering, where I could apply physics practically. I’ve always had an interest in building things, so structural engineering was a logical choice.

Professionally Known/Have A Knack For...I have been effective at identifying the root source of waterproofing and structural deficiencies on various projects. My ability to help identify the source and create repair solutions at these locations means that our clients only have to fix a deficiency once rather than perform several iterations of repairs.

Most Passionate About Professionally?I enjoy troubleshooting very old, rare, or recent structural systems where typical problem conditions are not well known. In those cases, our SK&A team is required to create innovative repair details to address the problem and maintain the structure.

Why Structural Engineering?Growing up spending time at my father’s automotive workshop fiddling with machines, I knew my career had to be in core engineering, working with tangible objects in lieu of abstract software development. However, later, during my undergraduate studies, I realized my aptitude for engineering mechanics, dynamics and structural analysis was best suited for structural

Why do you like working with architects?Architects develop an idea of a structure that they want to create. We, as structural engineers, work towards realizing their idea. This intermingling of ideas and concepts fascinates me and you get to learn in the process.

Why do you like working with architects?Architects tend to push boundaries of design. The more complex and elaborate architectural designs are, the more taxing our job is as structural engineers. Nothing great comes easy. So, I like working with architects because they push structural engineers to develop more creative and streamlined structural designs.

Structural Engineer II

Why Structural Engineering?Growing up as a kid, I followed my father to a variety of construction job sites. My father was a mechanical engineer but I had always been drawn to the beauty of architecture and the intricacy and complexity that goes into bringing an architectural design into reality. Applying for colleges I knew architectural engineering was my desired path. As much as I loved architecture, I was sure I wanted to be very involved in the engineering that goes into the realization of architectural designs. Furthermore, I focused on structural engineering because it encompassed everything I
