Calling all youth!
If youre having a hard time figuring out what to do during your
summer holidays, fret not.
Setafire needs you! For those who do not know, Setafire is a
service project established by
youths wanting to make a difference in a new outlet. Rather than
the typical charity work the
rest of the world seems to be doing, Setafire makes differences
by exposing and bringing new
experiences to youth. Setafire basically is divided into two
parts the training program andthe camp.
The camp part of Setafire has been ongoing for the past 2 years
and involves participants
from tribal Thais. With 5 modules based on their level of
understanding English as well as
performing arts (dance, drama, art & music), participants of
the camp get to learn an array of
new things as well as make friends with the youth coming to
assist each year. The camp is
conducted during weekends, so during the week, we take the time
to prepare for the following
weeks camp as well as go to nearby local schools to teach
English. This is also one of the
exciting times of the service project as we get to see the
typical life of a student living in
Omkoi (the town where the program is conducted situated 3 hrs
from Chiangmai).
But of course, when there comes camps, training is involved,
which brings upon the training
section of Setafire. Prior to the camp, youths go through a 3-4
day training program teaching
them some basic Thai (if they dont know any), introducing them
to the modules of the course
as well as teaching the performing arts to be taught during the
camp.
So it all comes down to this: If you have holidays in the month
of July, have a decent command
in Thai or English, please contact us by sending us an email,
giving us a call or even just
writing on our FB wall. The Service Project begins from the time
of the training to the end of
the camp which is from July 9 to July 26. However, the training
program ends on the 14th, so
feel free to come any time before that. The itinerary outline

Accommodation will always be provided so you need not worry
there; however, food will need
to be handled on your own. Dont worry, there are plenty of
cheap, yummy shops in Thailand.
Youll never go hungry! Also, during the nights in Bangkok and
Chiangmai, we tend to take a
few hours off too do a little sight-seeing and shopping, so itll
be great if you brought extra
money along if you want to join in. Follow the link to some

Spots are limited to 7 Malaysians and 7 Thais, so there will be
a screening process involves to
those who respond. Kindly respond by the end of May so flights
and other related tickets aswell as accommodation can be
arranged.
