    Set up your WordPress Dashboard in another language

    By default WordPress displays the English language, but people from all over the world reside in our

    beautiful Tampa Bay area, and some may write for audiences in another country and in some cases

    the site owner would feel more comfortable using WordPress in their native language. Not to worry,

    WordPress is currently available in 73 different languages from Azeri to Welsh (listed with links

    below) and in some cases multiple dialects within those languages.

    Here's how to change the language on your WordPress Dashboard. In this example we'll use French.

    1. Click the link at the bottom low cost seo services Marketing Companies of the

    http://www.austinecom.com/index.asp article for the language you wish to use.

    2. There will be instructions for you in your native language and links to WordPress.org translated,

    as well as links to community and support pages, but right now you're looking for a link to download

    the .mo language file. In our example the download file link is prominent in a red box on the right

    side of the page.

    3. Download the file on your computer and remember where you put it (it may automatically go in

     your Downloads folder if you do not specify a location).

    4. If the file is zipped, extract all files and check for the one ending in .mo.

    5. Now you'll need to have FTP access to your site's root folder for the next step, which is to create a

    folder inside the WordPress wp-content folder called languages.

    6. Move the .mo file you downloaded and unzipped into Social Media Marketing Company the new

    wp-content/languages folder you created.

    7. Upload the languages folder and its content to the server.

    8. Now open the wp-config.php file in the WordPress root folder and look for this line (line 73 in our

    example):

    define ('WPLANG', '');

    9. Add your language code (from the .mo file name) to it within the single quotation marks like this:

    define ('WPLANG', 'fr_FR');

    If you were changing to a dialect it could be something like pt_BR for Brazilian Portuguese.

    10. Save and upload the wp-config.php file.

    11. Log Social Media Marketing Services into your WordPress Dashboard, and voila - your language

    has changed!

     View the slideshow attached to this article for step-by-step screenshots.

    If you don't have the tools to do this, or you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, contact a local

    website design firm specializing in WordPress, like Tropicali Design Studio or Frank's Designs, to

    make this update for you.
