Preparing students of Std III to read and write English
?In Std III we teach students to read simple 3 letter words like bag, met, hen, sit, fox, hut.
?We now start to teach students the idea of sentences. We teach them the basic rules of writing sentences : the first letter is capital, there is space between words and there is a full stop in the end.
?We also introduce high frequency words or sight words. These are words that do not follow phonetic rules but have to be learnt with practice only.
?With the help of Reading Cards and Exercises in this Workbook students learn to read and write short, simple sentences.
?Pictures help students to make meaning of the words that they read and understand what they are writing.
