Airport Design Avoid designs that include crossing a runway to access
taxiway or another part of the aerodrome. Avoid complicated layout. Limit the number of aircraft crossing an active runway. Outer roads must be provided for vehicles and equipment. Limit vehicles entering aircraft maneuvering areas.

KKIA
Runway Safety Committee (RSC) Observe the number of runway incursions.
Provide advise and recommendations to improve runway safety data collection, analysis and dissemination.
Develop initiative for improving the standards of communications. Identify potential new technology that may reduce possibility
of runway incursions. Initiate runway safety campaign. Ascertain that signage and markings are ICAO compliant
and visible for pilots and drivers.
KKIA
Aerodrome Signs, Marking and Lighting
Ensure Signs, Marking and Lighting meet ICAO standards. Runway Stop Bars must be lighted all times. Use of latest safety technology.
KKIA
Runway Inspection Runway Inspection by vehicle to be
carried out in the opposite to the landing direction. Inspection has to include
signs, marking, lighting, FODs, safety areas, Cracks, erosions and rubber accumulation. Speed should be kept as low as
practicable.
KKIA
Adverse Weather
Airports Must have adverse weather procedure available & updated particularly low visibility. Broadcast the WX throughout the airport official channels. Ensure that all concerned agencies working at the airside
are aware. Ensure that all aircraft, equipments ,vehicles and PLBs are
secured. Suspend aircraft fuel operations if required.
