when not taken care of promptly and properly.

Bathrooms that have a shower in them should be

properly ventilated to help prevent

mold issues.

IMPORTANT Dos & DON’Ts OF WATER DAMAGES

• Stop the source of the water•Remove as much excess water as possible by mopping or blotting•Wipe excess water from wood furnishings after removing the contents from surfaces•Be aware of electrical hazards. DO NOT attempt to vacuum water up with a standard vacuum• Pad or block underneath wood furniture to prevent permanent staining of carpets• Carefully remove colored items in the affected areas, especially if they are on carpet or upholstery• Remove and prop up wet upholstery and pillow cushions for even drying• Isolate the areas where sewage or black water exposure has occurred • Keep yourself, children and pets away from areas exposed to sewage or black water• DO NOT attempt to use any electrical devices exposed to moisture or use unexposed electrical devices while standing on wet floors – especially concrete•DO NOT turn on ceiling fans or light fixtures if the ceiling or walls around them are wet• Avoid standing beneath any ceilings that are sagging • Call SERVPRO® as soon as you notice any water damage

IMPORTANT Dos & DON’Ts OF FIRE/SMOKE DAMAGE

• Limit movement in the area to prevent further damage• Ventilate the area with ventilation fans if possible•If the area is safe, list vital contents for emergency restoration/priority service.•Be sure there is personal protection equipment on, such as gloves, before touching anything.• Place clean towels or linens on rugs, upholstery and carpet traffic areas•Wash both sides of the leaves on any indoor plants•Change the HVAC filters and tape double layers of cheese cloth over air registers to stop particles of soot from getting in or out of the HVAC system.• DO NOT attempt to wash walls or painted surfaces•DO NOT attempt to shampoo carpet or upholstered furniture•DO NOT attempt to clean any electrical appliances, computers, televisions, radios, etc., that may have been close to fire, heat or water.• Call SERVPRO® when you are ready to begin the restoration process
