The chart above shows the volume of recorded hate crime over the last 2 years. From 2011 to 2012, recorded hate crime reduced by -4% from 2,706 to 2,599.

•Of the 43,748 hate crimes recorded by the police:
•35,816 (82%) were race hate crimes; WMP=86%
•1,621 (4%) were religion hate crimes; WMP=4%
•4,252 (10%) were sexual orientation hate crimes; WMP=9%
•1,744 (4%) were disability hate crimes; WMP=1%
•315 (1%) were transgender hate crimes. WMP=0%
