■ Network design. 3M can advise and assist you with the design of yournetwork, in particular the display requirements most suited to deliver against the objectives of your digital signage network.

■ Display technologies. Let 3M help you maximise the impact of your marketing messages through the latest display technologies including plasma, LCD, LED and 3M™Vikuiti™ Rear Projection displays combined with 3M™Digital Projectors. For interactive displays we can also offer a range of class-leading 3M™MicroTouch™ touch screen solutions.

■ Component sourcing. Why not take advantage of the considerable purchasing power available from 3M? Not only can we can source the appropriate components for your network, but also secure significant discounts on your behalf. Our service includes pre-installed player units that are competitively priced and fully certified for use with 3M Digital Signage software.

Installation servicesSubcontracting out installation work can often compromise service and quality. That is why we only use our own dedicated internal 3M team to carry out this crucial role.

PRINCE2-qualified in project management and conforming to ITIL international standards, you can always depend on 3M engineers to get your network installed and operational with minimum fuss and maximum efficiency.

■ Regionally based engineers providing full UK and Ireland coverage.3M utilises its internal Project Management Group to provide professional installation services using experienced IT and audio visualengineers.

■ 100% dependable.Our team have worked on major public and private sector projects including the installation and on-site support of passport security solutions for the British government and library security equipment throughout the UK.

■ Full installation service.– site survey– on-site installation– full commissioning of the solution to customer sign-off.

3M engineers will install all necessary equipment, undertake full configuration and software testing, and then present the customer with an Installation Certificate detailing that the system is fully operational.

Warranties and technical supportFree software telephone support. Free 12 month warranty on all 3M-supplied hardware.

■ 0800 number to our UK technical helpdesk for the life of your 3M Digital Signage software subscription.

■ Free software warranty and upgrades for the life of your software subscription.

■ Free 1 year hardware warranty on all equipment supplied by 3M, including screens, cabling and players, is offered against manufacturers’ defects on a ‘back-to-base’ basis. Any on-site attendance required by our engineers will be subject to an hourly charge if a 3M General Maintenance Agreement is not in place. All spare parts outside of the 12 month warranty are chargeable.

■ Extended hardware warranties – available to remove the unknown future cost of hardware failure. Please see below.

■ Avoid chargeable call-outs which can be unpredictable and costly to your organisation.Our GMA packages remove all the worry regarding breakdowns or future costs for on-site engineer visits or hardware replacement. All on-site call-outs and spare parts are included free-of-charge.

■ Choose the level of support that suits you best:

3M Silver GMA provides an extended warranty for all hardware products that removes risk and unknown future cost of spare parts and labour. Additional benefits may be added to provide a customised level of support that meets your individual requirements.

3M Platinum Service GMA provides a fully-comprehensive range of benefits. Please see next page for details of this extensive service.

3M Projector GMA (for networks that incorporate projectors) This specialist service includes projector lamp life monitoring and free on-site lamp replacement and filter cleaning. The fixed annual cost covers all replacement lamps, enables easy planning and budgeting,and ensures your projectors remain fully operational.

Unfortunately, hardware equipment does sometimes breakdown.But, for an affordable fixed annual fee, a 3M General Maintenance Agreement (GMA) package

removes uncertainties over future operational expenses by providing cover against virtually every eventuality.

■ Central 0800 helpline for your employees to call with any hardware or software issue. All issues logged by us are fully tracked to resolution. Operates 8.30am-5pm Monday to Friday excluding UK public holidays.

■ Full asset management service to track the location and status of allhardware and software components of your digital signage network.

■ Free once-a-day remote player audit by 3M to verify correct operation and proactively identify any hardware, software or network problems in order to undertake preventative maintenance.

■ Pre-configured player alert set up notifies 3M technical support services in the event of any system error that might affect playout.

■ Free remote diagnostics by 3M of any identified hardware, software or network problems using 3MDS Advanced Network Operations software. Free remote repair and resolution of any software problems.

■ Free on-site engineer support for hardware-related issues, excluding network connectivity or power issues outside of 3M’s responsibility. Available Monday-Friday. (Software issues can generally be fixed remotely without requiring on-site attendance.)

■ Free management and installation of all software patches,including Windows operating system, anti-virus software and firewallsoftware.

■ Rapid hardware equipment repair, with all spare parts included. In most circumstances we will replace the faulty unit with a fully operational one so that any necessary repairs do not interrupt operation of your digital signage network.

■ Monthly reports to client on all activities and status of logged issues.

Training services3M Digital Signage software is extremely easy to set up and use. Our intuitive, drag-and-drop user interface means customers can be up and running

in hours, not days.

Nevertheless, there’s nothing like having the confidence that formal training provides. Perhaps that’s why our training packages and technicalconsultancy are so popular with customers wanting to get the very best from their investment.

■ Free web-based training session. All 3M customers are offered one free web-based training session in the form of a live ‘webinar’ session to train key users on the user interface and management of the system.

■ Free on-line self-training modules. We will also provide online training modules covering both 3M Digital Signage Network Edition software and the opportunities for improved communication that a 3M digital signage network can enable.

■ Tailored personal training. 3M can also provide personalised training,as required, to advise on best practice, content production and advanced functionality of the system.

Technical consultancyOccasionally customers require modification of our off-the-shelf software products or require technical assistance with installations or content.

Our technical consultants are here to provide just that.

■ UK-based technical and software engineersare on hand, with additional back-up and expertise provided by our US development team as and when required. All engineers are familiar with MicroSoft Windows platform architectures.

Research and network optimisation services Measuring and improving digital signage network performance

■ Today's business leaders demand proof! 3M can help you build your business case for investment in digital signage. Whether you're considering your first digital signage pilot programme or you're looking to deploy a full roll-out, substantiating your decision to invest requires reliable supporting data. The high-stakes decision to scale-up a network is much easier when the expected benefits can be quantified with high confidence. That's why we encourage all of our customers to include research and optimisation as part of any project.

■ The 3M approach: Measurement and optimisation. Through experience we've found that traditional research techniques have their limitations when applied to digital sign networks. The passive research methods usually used measure only the effects of a digital signage execution against a control location, making it hard to eliminate other unrelated external factors which also may have affected results.

The 3M solution. To help isolate the direct impact generated by a digital signage installation, we prefer to measure the causes (inputs) as well as the results, taking advantage of the ability with digital signage to vary content and playout scheduling through 'experiments'. This approach allows us to test alternative content and playlist executions without having to rely upon historical or non-reproducible data. We call this 'optimisation'.

We combine this with other supporting research for qualitative metrics.
