When it comes to the services provided by the Concierge Team, no request is too large or too small. While nobody can work miracles, Gateway Apartments’ Concierge Team comes pretty close. When a Resident’s child went missing in the Harbour City Shopping Centre, the Concierge put together a search team. The child was found, safe and sound, and returned to relieved parents. In another incident, a Resident desperately needed a vital business document to be in London by the next day. Unfortunately, he had missed the last courier pick-up. Not wasting any time, a member of the Concierge Team hopped into a taxi and chased down the courier van. The document made it onto the last flight and yet another Resident was grateful and surprised the Concierge Team’s abilities.

Every apartment is cleaned daily, and bedsheets are changed three times weekly, so that every night feels just as luxurious as the last.

However, the services of the Gateway Apartments going beyond merely making sure that each apartment is kept spotlessly clean. For instance, each apartment has a specifically designated

Housekeeper to ensure both familiarity and privacy. If a cleaner notices that more tissues than normal have been used, they will leave behind some extra ones, just in case the Resident happens to have caught a cold. Anyone who has stayed in hotels knows the irritation of your toiletries being moved by cleaners. At Gateway Apartments, housekeeping services are very personalized. For example, if the Resident seems to be left-handed, they will leave the toiletries on the left side when cleaning the bathroom; all in the interest of making sure that the ultimate luxury is combined with the familiarity of home.

Another benefit of having a specific Housekeeper assigned to each apartment is that they keep an eye out for any small upgrades and improvements that might need doing. The service staff is on call 24 hours a day, seven days week. Whenever possible, maintenance work is done during times when Residents are out of the apartment, so they can relax at home without having to be concerned about repairs.

While Hong Kong is a very safe city compared to many other global cities of the same size, Gateway Apartments does not leave anything to chance when it comes to security. The presence of the Concierge Team, who knows each Resident by name, might seem a good enough safeguard against intruders. However, Gateway Apartments’ approach to customer service, as always, goes deeper. Thus, a professional team of security personnel is on duty around the clock.

do on a daily basis to limit your environmental impact, such as using environmentally friendly recycled bags for your grocery shopping, or opting to take the MTR rather than grabbing a taxi when making your way around the city. Making sure that you live somewhere with really strong ‘green’ credentials is also an added plus, which Residents of Gateway Apartments have as an added bonus.

As a major investment in environmental protection, Gateway Apartments installed 100 solar panels across the roofs of Hampton and Sutton Courts in 2009. Covering over 200 square metres, these panels harvest sunlight to heat water used by Residents. Every year, these panels offset more than 70 tons of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases and over the 30 years expected lifespan of the panels, this is equivalent to planting trees on 25 football pitches.

While the solar panels are the single largest financial investment, Gateway Apartments has made, ‘green’ thinking permeates everything they do. Gateway Apartments has formed an Environmental Committee to ensure that all aspects of the running of the Gateway Apartments are in line with the company’s ‘Best Green’ practices.

Several initiatives have been implemented thanks to the Environmental Committee’s recommendations. Water-saving showerheads and taps were installed in the apartments; all traditional light bulbs were switched to energy saving equivalents. Cleaning, laundry and dishwashing detergents are now bio-degradable. To keep environmental impact from consumption to a minimum, a comprehensive recycling and waste separation scheme is in place, which is fully supported by Residents.

Gateway Apartments’ commitment to staying green has been justly rewarded by numerous environmental awards. Water quality, air quality and waste reduction have all received impressive industry accolades. Unsurprising, as Gateway Apartments is
