    New Functionality for:Service Parts Planning 2007 Repair or Buy (New):

    In SAP SCM 5.0 you could primarily use Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) for planning the external procurement of service parts.

    As of SAP SCM 5.1, repair-or-buy decision support using a single part number is now supported SPP.

    Reorder-Point-Based (ROP) Planning (New):Previously, DRP only planned using periods.

    As of SAP SCM 5.1, ROP Planning is also available. With this, you can decide which of your location products you want to plan period-based and which you want to plan based on reorder point based.

    Leading Indicator Forecasting (New):In SAP SCM 5.0 you could only create forecasts based on the demand history. In other words, on the basis of past demands.

    As of SAP SCM 5.1, you could create forecasts based on leading-indicators , Bills of Materials, and install based information.

    Enhanced Functionality for:Service Parts Planning 2007 Generating Demand History (Enhanced):

    In SAP SCM 5.0 you could only create the demand history on the basis of order data from SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM).

    As of SAP SCM 5.1, you are also able to create the demand history for Service Parts Planning (SPP) on the basis of order and stock transfer data from SAP ERP.

    Functions in Forecasting Overview (Enhanced):

    Forecasting strategies:In SAP SCM 5.0, it was only possible to use the forecasting strategiesdelivered by SAP for generating forecast results.

    As of SAP SCM 5.1, you can create your own forecasting strategy in theBusiness Add-In (BAdI) BAdI: Define Customer-Defined Forecast Strategy (/SAPAPO/BADI_FCST_STRATEGY)

    Forecasting profiles:As of SAP SCM 5.1, you can, copy a forecasting profile parameters/settings from one product or location product to another location product.

    Enhanced Functionality for:Service Parts Planning 2007Outlier correction:In SAP SCM 5.0, it was only possible to use the outlier correction delivered by SAP.

    As of SAP SCM 5.1, you can create your own outlier correction in the BAdI: DefineCustomer-Defined Outlier Correction and select it in the forecast profile

    Forecast errors:In SAP SCM 5.0 it was only possible to use the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) Forecast error in automatic model selection.

    As of SAP SCM 5.1, you can also work with the following forecast errors: mean percent error (MPE) mean absolute percent error (MAPE) mean square error (MSE)

    Forecast approval:In SAP SCM 5.0 it was only possible to use the forecast approval with the logicdelivered by SAP.

    As of SAP SCM 5.1 you can also create a final forecast determination profile, inwhich you define which forecast key figures you want the system to adopt forthe final forecast. (i.e. Blended Final Forecast)

    New/Enhanced Functionality for:Service Parts Planning 2007

    Automatic model selection:In SAP SCM 5.0 you could only define one configuration for automatic model selection.

    As of SAP SCM 5.1, you can define profiles for automatic model selection and assign these on location product level in the forecast profile.

    SFT and EOQ Calculation in Inventory Planning (Enhanced):As of SAP SCM 5.1, you are able to define your own logic for calculating the safety stock (SFT) and economic order quantity (EOQ) in inventory planning.

    Product Interchangeability in SPP with Form-Fit-Function Classes (New): In SAP SCM 5.0, in terms of product interchangeability, you could only use product supersession.

    As of SAP SCM 5.1, form-fit-function classes are now supported in Service Parts Planning (SPP).

    Functions for Deployment and Inventory Balancing (Enhanced):As of SAP SCM 5.1, the Business Add-In (BAdI) BAdI: Determination of Demand in Deployment (/SAPAPO/DEPL_DEMAND_CALC) is available.

    Enhanced Functionality for: Service Parts Planning 2007 Functions for Shortage Analysis (Enhanced):

    As of SAP SCM 5.1:

    A viewed indicator is available to internal planners in the shortage monitor. The planner can use this to suppress certain entries for a certain amount of time in the shortage monitor.

    The following new alert types are available:7813 - Critical Product (Shortage Analysis)7868 - Inconsistency of DRP Planning Mode in the BOD7877 - SPP DRP: Invalid Master Data7888 - Determining the DRP Planning Mode7890 - DRP Repair or Buy

    There is new criteria that can be displayed in the table in the Statistical Viewarea of the alert monitor, in order to provide the desired overview of your alerts.

    You can define how the system calculates days' supply and open quantities.

    You can define how the system changes the planning results for shortage analysis.

    Enhanced Functionality for:Service Parts Planning 2007 Functions for Supplier Delivery Performance Rating (SDPR) (Enhanced):

    As of SAP SCM 5.1, the following new functions for supplier delivery performance rating (SDPR) are available:

    Definition of Time of Supplier Delivery Performance Rating:As of SAP SCM 5.1, you can no longer have the restriction of defining the times of supplier delivery performance rating globally. The flexibility is there to define this information specifically for suppliers and product groups.

    Product Group as Additional Criterion:As of SAP SCM 5.1, the product group is available as an additional selection criterion for the following settings in supplier delivery performance rating: Time of Supplier Delivery Performance Rating Quantity Tolerance for Correctness of ASN Time Window for On-Time Delivery Quantity Tolerance for On-Time Delivery

    DataSourcesIn the following DataSources, the field Number of Days (SPAN_ANY_DAYS) has been added: Consumption ASN with Purchase Order (0SPL_SDPR_ASN2PO_1) Consumption ASN with Scheduling Agreement Release (0SPL_SDPR_ASN2SCH_1)

    Enhanced Functionality for:Service Parts Planning 2007 Functions for SF Monitor and SL Analysis (Enhanced):

    As of SAP SCM 5.1, the Business Add-In (BAdI) BAdI: Read Additional Values from CIF Interface (/SAPAPO/CL_EX_SRVF_CIF_IN) is available for the Service Fill Monitor and Service Loss Analysis.

    Simulation (Enhanced): As of SAP SCM 5.1, you can assign a simulation version for the user interface in the simulation of Service Parts Planning (SPP).

    Procurement Lead Time for Service Parts Planning (SPP) (Enhanced):As of SAP SCM 5.1, you can define your own procurement lead time component.

    Service Parts Planning (SPP) User Interfaces (Enhanced):As of SAP SCM 5.1, the Business Add-In (BAdI) BAdI: Define Modifications and Enhancements for User Interfaces (/SCF/UIMDL_APPCUST) is available.

    New Functionality for:Service Parts Warehousing 2007 Labor Management (New):

    Labor Management was a major focus of the new development for Extended Warehouse Management. Functionality for labor management includes measurement and key performance indicators, planning and simulation, and visualization.

    Easy graphics framework (New):The easy graphics framework provides a framework, plus some delivered content, for providing graphical display or visualization of statuses for warehouse processes.

    Enterprise Services (new):In EWM 5.1, several enterprise services were added in the areas of yard management, as well as handling units and inventory, organizational data, and delivery processing.

    Direct Outbound Delivery (New):Direct Outbound Delivery functionality has been added to EWM 5.1 as well in order to provide capability for creating and processing deliveries directly on EWM.

    New Functionality for:Service Parts Warehousing 2007 Catch weight support (New):

    Catch weight functionality can be supported by SAP, now using ERP in conjunction with EWM, or it can be implemented on the EWM side only.

    Retail article master support (New):

    Service Parts Warehousing using SD instead of CRM (New):EWM now supports service parts warehousing functionality for customers using ERP Sales and Distribution for order management instead of CRM. Supported scenarios include: Direct sales for service parts orders Invoice before goods issue Cancellation of goods issue Push and pull deployment Kit to order Bonded stock

    Enhanced Functionality for:Service Parts Warehousing 2007 Kit to stock (Enhanced):

    In SCM 5.0, SAP provided the capability to perform kit-to-order, meaning that thekit could only be created with reference to a customer order.

    In EWM 5.1, we can now create kits and place them in stock for fulfillment of future customer orders.

    Good receipt (Enhanced):In EWM, it is now possible to perform the goods receipt process based on expected goods receipts instead of using ASNs.

    In SCM 5.0, the inbound delivery was created as a result of the ASN received from the vendor, or manually created by users in ERP, then the goods receipt process is performed with reference to the inbound delivery.

    In EWM 5.1, the Expected Goods Receipt replaces the Inbound Delivery Notification. The goods can be processed with reference to the expected goods receipt even if they are received without an ASN being sent by the vendor.

    Enhanced Functionality for:Service Parts Warehousing 2007 RFID enablement (Enhanced):

    In SCM 5.0, SAP provided the ability to interface HUs to ERP and to use the auto-ID infrastructure (AII) to update the HUs with the relevant RFID information, essentially enabling a slap-and-ship method for utilizing RFID.

    In EWM 5.1, SAP provides the ability to use RFID in the internal processes within the warehouse.

    Batch management (Enhanced):In EWM 5.1, batch determination and other batch processes can be performedwithin the warehouse.

    Serial number (Enhanced):In of the 2007 release, we can specify serial numbers in the sales order, plus there are other enhancements for serial number processing.

    Analytics (Enhanced): Analytics capabilities of EWM have been enhanced to include reporting capabilities for labor management, visual displays and alerts using the easy graphics framework, plus interfaces and delivered info cubes for SAP Business Intelligence (BI).
