The uniqueness of the project is that young people from diferent European Union countries come together with the most vulnerable group -young people with mental disabilities. The most important thing is European solidarity, teaching and learning of common professional development moments.Volunteers at JDC will work together with mentally disabled youth. They will support and help young people who have special needs. Volunteers will also benefit greatly from these activities. You will gain a wealth of useful knowledge for shaping your future. They will find the right profession for themselves, gain some professional knowledge, learn more about the labor market in other countries, learn how to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, and share their experience after the project in their own country. The knowledge gained by volunteers will make it easier for them to find a job in their own country or in another country. We believe that this project will have a major impact on the future of able and disabled young people in the professionalarea.In addition to the daily activities, the volunteers will carry out many public projects such as organizing exhibitions, concerts, sports festivals for town community that should show abilities of mentally disabled youth and change public attitude. Volunteers will organize special events for non-disabled young people at general educational institutions that disseminate the idea of volunteering and to change young people's attitudes to mental disability peers.

Is a social service institution that was established in 1996 by Panevezys Town Council. We provide day activities for disabled youngster’s severe and moderate physical and intellectual impairment over 18 years of age. These activities include small work tasks, drama, art, sport, IT and informal education. We also provide social care for our clients. Our mission is to foster the uniqueness of each person while working towards the integration of disabled people into society. We give a lot of importance to links with the community and organize special activities such as a theatre festival, sport competitions and Christmas activities. Panevezys Day Care Centre is constantly seeking to develop through professional staff development, creating new activities that lead to development opportunities for disabled people and cooperating with organizations in other countries, adopting good practice from abroad.
At the moment the institution joins 70 users with various types and degrees of disabilities: users with mentally, mobility, speech problems and long term diseases. The staffs 43 person: special needs teachers, social workers, the assistants of social workers, auxiliary and administrative staff. The Institution was founded to ensure a steady occupation for the mentally disabled young people, to advocate and promote their rights and interests and to offer wide range social services and support, to improve their educational, vocational and living skills. We organize educational, cultural, sporting activities and social events, offer free of charge transportation with adapted vans, free of charge use of modern computer technology and internet access, free of charge photocopying and enlarging educational materials, organizing personal assistance, offer advice and help related to educational, vocational and living matters. Your living place – Projektuotoju 13-16, Panevezys.Your volunteering place – Kranto 16.Like you see from your living place till JDC by walk is about 35 min.You will get ticket of city bus for every month and by bus till your working place will be about 10 min.
Flat wear you will stay have 4 rooms. You will be 4 volunteers in one flat and you will have self rooms. Just need share kitchen, toilet and bathroom.Here you can see photos from your living place:
We will give to you bed linen and towels. Also we take care about all the necessary household utensils.

Pocket money – 120 euro every month. Food money every month Day lunch in organisation for free Monthly bus tickets valid for all busses in Panevezys town. Monthly SIM card for mobile phone for necessary and emergency calls. Limit 3 eur. House keeping materials: toilet paper, washing powder and etc. Activity money - you have money for activities with students:

All ideas are welcome just do plan with your tutor and as us money.Trip
Please, look just for one way ticket and find the cheapest solution. We will let you know the date, when you can bay this ticket. We will pay you back when you will arrive. If the ticket will be more expensive then you can buy , sorry, you should pay the difference. But suppose it is possible to find the cheapest way to travel. Your ticket back we will bay for you – do not care.The possible flight is to Riga (Latvia) or Vilnius (Lithuania), Kaunas (Lithuania), see the cheapest solution. We will axplane you about everything, haw to come to Panevezys.If you will pay for the ticket we will pay you back after your arriving. If your sending organization will pay for your ticket we will pay them back together with sending coasts.The most important: you have to save invoices (bills), tickets, boarding passes for all your trips. We need this documents for back to you money.
About city – Panevezys!
Panevėžys, the capital of Aukštaitija Ethnographic Region, has been the fifth largest city in Lithuania for more than a century. It occupies 50 square kilometers with 100 000 thousand inhabitants, the majority of whom (96 per cent) are Lithuanians. The rest are Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Byelorussian, Jewish people. Panevėžys is situated in the middle of Lithuania; it is halfway between two Baltic capitals - Vilnius and Riga. The city lies in a good geographical position which plays a major role in communication with other Lithuanian cities and the city of Kaliningrad(Russia). The Via Baltica highway runs through the city and connects it to many Scandinavian and West European countries.Panevėžys lies on the banks of the river Nevėžis, the sixth longest river in Lithuania. The river gave its name to the city itself. Senvagė (the Old River Bed ) is considered the symbol of Panevėžys and is a famous place for leisure time and festivals.It boasts of Laisvės Square where modern ideas intertwine with old ones, Respublikos Street famous for its art galleries.Panevėžys has a reputation for being a clean , cosy and green city. At the same time it is an important industrial spot.
